Wheel Alignment Specifications & Procedures: Diagnosis Nissan Altima L31

PRELIMINARY INSPECTION

  1. Check tires for wear and improper inflation.
  2. Check wheel runout. Wheel runout : Refer to «INSPECTION»(ref-184726-S08325653162005082500000) .
  3. Check front wheel bearings for looseness.
  4. Check front suspension for looseness.
  5. Check steering linkage for looseness.
  6. Check that front shock absorbers work properly.
  7. Check vehicle posture (Unladen).
  1. Check tires for wear and for improper inflation.
  2. Check wheels for deformation, cracks and other damage. If deformed, remove wheel and check wheel runout. Refer to «INSPECTION»(ref-184726-S08325653162005082500000) .
  3. Check rear wheel bearings for looseness.
  4. Check rear suspension for looseness.
  5. Check that rear shock absorber works properly.
  6. Check wheelarch height (Unladen). Refer to «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-162163-S34467498532004051800000) .

Scheme 1

Scheme 1: CAMBER
  1. Measure camber of both right and left wheels with a suitable alignment gauge and adjust in accordance with the following procedures. Camber : Refer to «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-162163-S34467498532004051800000) .
  2. If camber is not within specification, adjust by turning the adjusting bolts in the same direction.

  1. Turn the adjusting bolts in the same direction to calibrate. NOTE: Camber changes about 5° with each graduation of the adjusting bolt.
  2. Tighten to the specified torque. Refer to «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-165995-S13928046072004090900000) .
