Scheme 1
ENGINE TEMPERATURE GAUGE
Indicates engine coolant temperature. Gauge should register below the hot range while driving.
COOLANT LEVEL WARNING LIGHT
If light comes on while driving, the engine coolant level is low. Stop vehicle immediately and let engine cool. Add coolant after engine has cooled.
OIL PRESSURE GAUGE
Indicates engine oil pressure. If gauge registers low or no oil pressure, stop the vehicle immediately and check the oil level. If oil level is satisfactory and gauge still registers low oil pressure, have the system checked as soon as possible.
OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT
If light comes on while driving, oil pressure is low. If this occurs, stop vehicle immediately and check oil level. If oil level is okay and light remains on, have system serviced as soon as possible.
OIL TEMPERATURE GAUGE
Indicates engine oil temperature. Gauge should register between 167-266°F (75-130°C) during normal driving. If gauge registers 284°F (140°C), stop the vehicle immediately and have the system serviced as soon as possible.
VOLTMETER
Indicates battery voltage. If gauge falls below normal range and remains there while engine is running, check the alternator belt. If the belt tension is okay, but light remains illuminated, have the electrical system serviced as soon as possible.
CHARGING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT
Indicates that battery is not charging properly. Check the alternator belt tension. If belt tension is okay, but light remains illuminated, have the system serviced as soon as possible.
CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT
If light comes on while the engine is running, there may be a problem with the engine components. Have vehicle serviced as soon as possible.
BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT
Light indicates that either the parking brake is on or the brake fluid level is low.
TURBO BOOST GAUGE
Indicates the turbocharger boost level. If the gauge exceeds the maximum positive or negative value on the gauge, stop vehicle immediately and have the system checked as soon as possible.
EXHAUST GAS SENSOR LIGHT
If light comes on while the engine is running, have the exhaust gas sensor serviced as soon as possible. This warning system does not operate after maintenance has been performed at 30,000 miles.
HEADLIGHT/TAILLIGHT/STOPLIGHT MONITOR LIGHTS
If light comes on when their respective exterior lights should come on, check that light for a burned out bulb.
