DTC U1415: Coding Not Completed/Data Fail

If the vehicle information data is not registered to the CAN box unit, the CAN box unit sets DTC U1415.

With the global coding counter value "0," if all the global coding data (vehicle information) are not stored, the CAN box unit determines that a problem has occurred.

1. The CAN bus line may be defective.
2. The CAN box unit may be defective.
3. The ETACS-ECU may be defective.

1. STEP 1. Using scan tool MB991958, diagnose the CAN bus line. CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool MB991958, always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool MB991958. Connect scan tool MB991958. Refer to " «HOW TO CONNECT THE SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-III)»(/mitsubishi/lancer-ralliart/x-2012-2015/remont/navigation-system/#mitsubishi-multi-communication-system-mmcs-lancer__how-to-connect-the-scan-tool) ." Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position. Diagnose the CAN bus line. Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position. Q: Is the CAN bus line found to be normal? YES: Go to Step 2. NO: Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to «DIAGNOSIS»(/mitsubishi/lancer-ralliart/x-2012-2015/remont/communication-devices/#controller-area-network-can-lancer__diagnosis) ).
2. STEP 2. Using scan tool MB991958, read the ETACS-ECU diagnostic trouble code. Check if the diagnosis code relating to the coding error is set to the ETACS-ECU. Q: Is the DTC set? YES: Troubleshoot the ETACS-ECU (Refer to «DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART»(/mitsubishi/lancer-ralliart/x-2012-2015/remont/communication-devices/#electronic-time-alarm-control-system-etacs-lancer__diagnostic-trouble-code-chart) ), and then go to Step 3. NO: Go to Step 3.
3. STEP 3. Recheck for diagnostic trouble code. Check again if the DTC is set to the CAN box unit. Erase the DTC. Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position. Check if DTC is set. Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position. Q: Is the DTC set? YES: Replace the CAN box unit. NO: The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to «HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS»(/mitsubishi/lancer-ralliart/x-2012-2015/remont/hoistjack/#general-information-lancer__how-to-cope-with-intermittent-malfunctions) ).
