Front Wheel Drive Models
Front of vehicle may be raised with floor jack by placing jack under front body rail, behind suspension arm-to-body bracket. Rear of vehicle may be raised by placing jack forward of tie rod bracket or under either rear control arm.
Lifting Points (Escort, EXP and Lynx). DO NOT contact catalytic converter bracket when lifting. Scheme 3
BUMPER JACK
DO NOT raise these vehicles by the bumper at any time.
Ensure that hoist manufacturer's instructions are followed. Do not allow hoist or adapters to contact suspension, exhaust or steering components.
Escort, EXP & Lynx
Adapters are necessary to lift vehicle. The adapters must be placed at 4 contact points. (Scheme 3) Position adapters, so they are centered on contact area. All 4 points must contact adapters. Front contact points are at front body rail behind suspension arm-to-body bracket. Rear contact points are forward of tie rod body brackets. (Scheme 3)
