REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

WARNINGTo avoid injury from accidental air bag deployment, read and follow all SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM procedures in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.

Note. For removal & installation procedures not covered in this article, see the A/C-HEATER SYSTEM - MANUAL article.

Disconnect negative battery cable. Install Radio Remover (T87P-19061-A) into ICP face plate. Apply a slight spreading force on remover. Gently pull ICP from instrument panel. Disconnect electrical connectors. Disconnect in-car temperature sensor hose and elbow. To install, reverse removal procedure.

Remove ICP. See INTEGRATED CONTROL PANEL (ICP) . Open glove box. Press sides of glove box inward and lower glove box to floor. Remove 2 screws securing RCC module to evaporator housing. Disconnect harness connector and remove RCC module. To install, reverse removal procedure.

Removal

  1. Rotate nylon push pins 90 degrees to disengage. Remove four quarter turn nylon push pins retaining right hand cowl vent screen.
  2. Remove push-on clips retaining right hand cowl vent screen and remove right hand cowl vent screen from vehicle. Remove two screws retaining cowl top inner panel shield and remove cowl top inner panel shield from vehicle. Remove filter from housing. NOTE: Pollen filter must be properly positioned in housing.

Scheme 4: Installation
  1. Install pollen filter into housing. Install cowl top inner panel shield with two retaining screws. Tighten screws 10-13 inch lbs. (1.1-1.5 N.m). Install right hand cowl vent screen.
  2. Install quarter turn nylon push pins and push-on clips to right hand cowl vent screen.
