ENGINE IDENTIFICATION

Note. This article contains latest information from manufacturer and covers back to year 1997.

Engine is identified by eighth character of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). See ENGINE IDENTIFICATION CODES table. VIN is stamped on a metal tag, and is visible through windshield on driver's side. VIN is also located on Safety Compliance Certification Label on edge of driver's door.
