Transaxle Shift Control Linkage
The transaxle shift control linkage consists of
- a gearshift lever which connects to the transmission column shift selector tube on the steering column. A gearshift lever pin secures the gearshift lever to the selector tube.
- a shift cable and bracket which connects to the shift arm assembly on the steering column and to the manual control lever on the transaxle. The shift cable bracket bolts to the transaxle.
Shift Interlock System
The shift interlock system consists of
- a brake shift interlock actuator. A transmission shift selector position insert, which bolts to the steering actuator housing, secures the brake shift interlock actuator to the steering column.
- electrical circuits to supply power to lock and unlock the brake shift interlock actuator.
The brake shift interlock actuator locks the gearshift lever in PARK
- when the ignition switch lock cylinder is in the LOCK position.
- with the ignition switch lock cylinder in the RUN position and the brake pedal released.
The brake shift interlock actuator releases the gearshift lever
- when the ignition switch lock cylinder is in the FIRST position.
- with the ignition switch lock cylinder in the RUN position and the brake pedal actuated.
