UNUSUAL STARTER NOISE OR STARTER SPINS BUT ENGINE DOES NOT TURN OVER
Inspect starter mounting. Ensure bolts are tight and starter is aligned properly. Repair as necessary and check starter operation. If starter is mounted properly, remove starter and inspect flywheel ring gear for wear or damage. See STARTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If ring gear is okay, replace starter motor.
