CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT
CHECK ENGINE warning light indicates malfunctions in electronic engine control system. If functioning correctly, light comes on when ignition switch is turned to ON position and goes out after engine starts. If light fails to illuminate with ignition on or remains on when running, a service need is indicated.
CHARGING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT
This light will glow with ignition switch in ON or START position until engine is started. If light remains on with engine running, electrical system needs to be checked.
BATTERY VOLTAGE GAUGE
Gauge should register in NORMAL (White) range during operation. If gauge falls into the Red range during regular driving, when no electrical accessories are operating, charging system should be checked.
ENGINE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE
Note. Oil pressure gauge does not indicate oil level, but a low oil level could affect the reading.
Under normal operating conditions, gauge should register within NORMAL range (above Red area). If gauge drops below the NORMAL operating band into the Red area during normal operation, stop immediately and check the oil level and other causes of low oil pressure.

ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE
Gauge should register within NORMAL (White) band under regular operating conditions. If gauge rises into HOT (Red) range, stop vehicle, let engine cool and check coolant level.
BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT
BRAKE light indicates either the parking brake is on or the brake master cylinder fluid level is low. Light should come on briefly when ignition switch is turned to ON position and parking brake is released. If light stays on, servicing is needed.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT
This light indicates a malfunction in air bag system. When working correctly, light should stay on for 6 seconds after ignition switch is turned to ON position. If light fails to come on briefly, or remains on while driving, servicing is needed.
MANUAL SHIFT INDICATOR LIGHT (AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE VEHICLES)
Light should come on when automatic transaxle is put in MANUAL MODE. A flashing light indicates an electrical problem in the automatic transaxle that requires servicing.
TURBO BOOST GAUGE
On vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines, this gauge indicates how much boost the turbo is giving the engine. If turbocharger generates an overboost, a buzzer will sound. When overboost occurs, fuel pump is shut off until overboost condition has ended. Momentary overboost is acceptable. Involuntary sustained overboost should be checked immediately.
