Connect Hand Held Tester to Data Link Connector (X11/4) according to connection diagram. (Scheme 79)and/or see scheme 11. The following functions can be performed according to the instructions on the hand held tester display
- Retrieving/Erasing DTC Memory
- Reading Actual Values
- Performing Activations
- Programming Control Modules

SYSTEM TESTS
| CAUTION | To avoid damaging control modules all electrical testing should be done with a DVOM. DO NOT use an analog meter or test light to check control module circuits. |
After verifying problem using DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE MEMORY (SECTION 11) under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM, perform appropriate test step(s). For aid in using diagnostic charts, see USING DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS .
