ROOF OPENING PANEL

The roof opening panel consists of the following

1. air deflector
2. overhead console (if equipped)
3. roof opening panel
4. roof opening panel motor
5. roof opening panel module
6. roof opening panel shield
7. roof opening panel switch
8. roof opening panel drain hoses

The roof opening panel is an electronically operated panel that can be opened or closed by depressing a switch located inside the vehicle on the overhead console. It also has a one-touch open feature.

The ones touch open feature is controlled by the roof opening panel module. When the switch is pressed and held for one second the roof opening panel will open to the comfort position (approximately 100 mm (4 in) from the full open). Pressing the switch a second time will open the roof opening panel to the full-open position.

The roof opening panel can be moved to the fully closed position by rocking the switch forward and holding it until the roof opening panel is fully closed.

When the roof opening panel is in the fully closed position, the rear portion can be raised to the vent position to provide ventilation by rocking the switch forward. The roof opening panel can be closed by rocking the switch rearward.

1. Position the roof opening panel to the full open position. CAUTION: Use care not to damage the air deflector retaining tabs when releasing the air deflector from the roof opening.
2. Release the 2 air deflector retaining tabs at the roof opening.
3. Pivot the air deflector full up and slide it from its locator to release the air deflector arms.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Open the roof opening panel to the vent position.
2. Remove the four roof opening panel bolts.
3. From outside the vehicle, remove the roof opening panel.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Check for correct alignment of the roof opening panel. See «ROOF OPENING PANEL ALIGNMENT»(ref-221984-S08972458102006022600000) .

1. Remove the roof opening panel. See «ROOF OPENING PANEL GLASS»(ref-221984-S05787536412006022600000) .
2. Remove the water channel. Remove the bolts. Remove the water channel.
3. Slide the roof opening panel shield forward.
4. Remove the roof opening panel shield. Disengage the four spring loaded guides. Remove the roof opening panel shield.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Scheme 20

1. Close the roof opening panel.
2. Remove the headliner. See «HEADLINER»(ref-221990-S25320297652006022600000) .
3. Remove the roof opening panel motor. Disconnect the electrical connectors. Remove the bolts. Remove the roof opening panel motor.
