CONSOLE - OVERHEAD
The overhead console consists of the following components
- garage door opener compartment (without roof opening panel)
- lamp switch
- roof opening panel control switch (with roof opening panel)
- sun glass compartment
- map lamps
CONSOLE - FLOOR
The high series floor console consists of the following components
- arm rest
- floor console finish panel
- rear cup holders
- storage compartment
The low series floor console consists of the following components
- floor console front finish panel
- floor console rear finish panel

- Remove the floor console front finish panel. Remove the manual transaxle shifter knob by turning counterclockwise. Remove the floor console front finish panel.
- Remove the floor console rear finish panel. Apply the parking brake. Remove the floor console rear finish panel. Disconnect the electrical connector(s).
- Remove the floor console front bolts. NOTE: Position the seats forward to access the 2 rear bolts.
- Remove the two rear bolts and the floor console.
- Position the seats to the rear and disconnect the battery.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Remove the floor console finish panel. Apply the parking brake. Remove the floor console finish panel.
- Remove the floor console front bolts.
- Remove the floor console. Remove the two rear bolts. Remove the floor console.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
INSTRUMENT PANEL
The instrument panel consists of the following components
- glove compartment
- instrument cluster
- instrument cluster finish panel
- instrument panel cowl top cover
- instrument panel finish end panels
- instrument panel steering column cover
- utility compartment
- passenger-side air bag module

- Remove the driver-side air bag module. See «DRIVER AIR BAG MODULE»(ref-221939-S36536665932006022600000) .
- If removing the instrument panel, remove the floor console. See «CONSOLE - FLOOR»(ref-221990-S29091686212006022600000)
- Remove the two front door scuff plates. Remove the four pin-type retainers. Remove the two front door scuff plates.
- Remove the two A-pillar lower trim panels. Remove the two pin-type retainers. Remove the two A-pillar lower trim panels.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors located by the LH cowl.
- Position the hood latch release handle aside. Remove the bolts. Position the hood latch release handle aside.
- Remove the utility compartment. Remove the four pin-type retainers. Remove the utility compartment. Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the instrument panel steering column cover. Release the upper clips and rotate the cover outward to release the lower pivot retainers.
- Remove the steering column lower cover. Remove the screws. Remove the steering column lower cover. NOTE: Adjust the linkage after installing the transaxle selector lever (automatic transaxle only). See «SELECTOR LEVER CABLE ADJUSTMENT»(ref-221910-S25789768902006022600000)
- If equipped, disconnect the shift cable. Disconnect the shift cable. Disconnect the shift cable from the retaining bracket.
- Remove the steering column coupler access cover.
- Disconnect the steering column coupler. Remove the steering column coupler bolt and nut. Disconnect the steering column coupler.
- Remove the cover panel. Remove the pin-type retainer. Release the retaining clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the climate control vacuum harness connector.
- Disconnect the in-line electrical connector.
- Remove the four instrument panel center brace bolts.
- Remove the passenger-side air bag module. See «PASSENGER AIR BAG MODULE»(ref-221939-S26220315812006022600000) .
- Disconnect the vacuum harness connector.
- Close the glove compartment. Press the release tabs inward while raising the glove compartment.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors at the blower motor.
- Disconnect the antenna cable in-line connector.
- Open the four A-pillar passenger assist handle covers.
- Remove the two A-pillar passenger assist handles. Remove the four bolts. Remove the two A-pillar passenger assist handles.
- Remove the two windshield side garnish moldings.
- Remove the instrument panel cowl top cover.
- Remove the instrument panel cowl top bolt.
- Remove the instrument cluster. See «INSTRUMENT CLUSTER»(ref-222003-S14149880892006022600000) .
- Disconnect the temperature control cable. See «TEMPERATURE BLEND DOOR CONTROL CABLE»(ref-221931-S04356523602006022600000) .
- Through the instrument cluster opening, remove the instrument panel nut.
- Remove the two instrument panel finish end panels.
- Remove the four instrument panel cowl side bolts. NOTE: This step requires an assistant.
- Remove the instrument panel.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. If necessary, transfer components.

- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, see «BATTERY DISCONNECT»(ref-221834-S42533501902006022600000) .
- Lower the glove compartment. Press the glove compartment release tabs inward while pulling downward on the glove compartment.
- Disconnect the climate control cable. Position the locator pin. Release the locking tab. Disconnect the climate control cable from the blend door shaft.
- Remove the instrument cluster finish panel. Remove the screws. Remove the instrument cluster finish pane and disconnect the electrical connectors.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
