Disconnect the anti-lock brake harness from the strut and spring assembly.

1. Remove the bolt.
2. Position the bracket aside.

1. Position the stabilizer bar link aside. Remove the upper stabilizer bar link nut. Position the stabilizer bar link aside.
2. Remove the strut-to-wheel knuckle bolts.
3. Mark the bearing plate outer studs. Marking the studs will aid in restoring the caster/camber to its original settings during installation. NOTE: Support the strut and spring assembly when removing upper nuts.
4. Remove the strut and spring assembly. Remove the nuts.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Align the front wheels to specifications. See «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-163701) article.

1. Remove the strut and spring assembly; refer to «STRUT AND SPRING ASSEMBLY»(ref-169625-S40120736732004121400000) . WARNING: Always wear safety goggles when using a spring compressor. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
2. Mount the assembly in a suitable holding fixture and use a suitable spring compressor to compress the front coil spring.
3. Remove the strut piston rod nut.
4. Disassemble the strut and spring assembly. Remove the metal sheet plate. Remove the upper strut mount. Remove the thrust bearing plate. Remove the thrust bearing. Remove the upper spring seat. Remove the upper spring seat isolator. Remove the spring. Remove the dust boot. Remove the rubber bump stopper. Remove the lower spring seat. NOTE: New fasteners must be used when old fasteners are loosened and/or removed. Make sure that an alignment procedure is carried out any time the strut and spring assembly or the front shock absorber mounting bracket bolts are loosened. See «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-163701) article. NOTE: Be sure the spring is correctly seated in the insulator.
5. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

1. Remove the wheel and tire.
2. Separate the lower ball joint from the wheel knuckle. Remove the pinch bolt. Separate the lower ball joint from the wheel knuckle.
3. Support the subframe.
4. Remove the lower arm. Remove the lower arm bolts (1). Remove the lower arm (2).

1. Install the lower arm bolts loosely. (Scheme 29)
2. Install the pinch bolt into the wheel knuckle.
3. Remove the subframe support. (Scheme 28)
4. Install the wheel and tire.
5. Bounce the vehicle.
6. Tighten the lower arm bolts. (Scheme 29)

1. Remove the wheel and tire.
2. Remove the stabilizer bar link. Remove the upper and lower stabilizer bar link nuts. Remove the stabilizer bar link.
3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the LH wheel and tire.
2. Remove the two stabilizer bushings. Remove the four bolts. Remove the two stabilizer bushings.
3. Remove the stabilizer bar. Remove the two stabilizer bar links lower nut. Remove the stabilizer bar.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Install the anti-lock brake sensor and tighten the bolt. see scheme 22
2. Install the tie rod end into the wheel knuckle. see scheme 20 Install the tie rod end nut. Install a new cotter pin.
3. Install the wheel hub nut. see scheme 19
4. Install the brake disc. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION «FRONT BRAKE ROTOR»(ref-163516-S07194447242004070100000) for FRONT DISC BRAKE.
