Electric Current Value

Note. If 10 A/C fuse is often out, the cause may be short circuit in the stator coil. Perform the following inspection.

Scheme 94

Scheme 94: Electric Current Value

Scheme 95

Scheme 95
  1. Disconnect the magnetic clutch connector.
  2. Connect battery positive voltage and an ammeter to terminal A of the magnetic clutch and ground to A/C compressor body as shown.
  3. Verify the electric current value of the stator. If not as specified, replace the stator. Electric current value (Reference) 3.7 A (Normal temperature)

Scheme 96: MAGNETIC CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT
  1. Adjust the clearance using shims if necessary. Adjusting shims are available in the following thicknesses. Adjusting shim size 0.1 mm {0.004 in} 0.3 mm {0.012 in} 0.5 mm {0.020 in} Standard clearance 0.35-0.65 mm {0.014-0.025 in}

Scheme 98
  1. Remove the A/C compressor. (See «A/C COMPRESSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-194460-S19230565472005092800000) .)
  2. Disassembly in the order indicated in the figure.
  3. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
  4. Adjust the magnetic clutch clearance. (See «MAGNETIC CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT»(ref-194461-S18608433742005092800000) .)

Scheme 99

Scheme 99: Bolt Disassembly Note
  1. Remove the bolt using the SST (Magnetic Clutch Stopper).

Scheme 100

Scheme 100: Pressure Plate Disassembly Note
  1. Remove the pressure plate using the SST (Pressure Plate Remover).

Scheme 101

Scheme 101: CONDENSER FAN INSPECTION
  1. Disconnect the condenser fan connector.
  2. Connect B+ to terminal A and ground to terminal B of the condenser fan, and verify that air blows towards the engine. If the condenser fan does not operate, replace the condenser fan.

Scheme 102: CONDENSER FAN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Scheme 103

Scheme 103
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Loosen the lower installation bolt of condenser fan.
  3. Remove in the order indicated in the figure.
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 104

Scheme 104: BLOWER MOTOR INSPECTION
  1. Disconnect the blower motor connector.
  2. Connect B+ to terminal A and ground to terminal B of the blower motor, and verify its operation. If the blower motor does not operate, replace the blower motor.

Scheme 105

Scheme 105: BLOWER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the bracket.
  3. Remove the blower motor.
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 106: REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SWITCH INSPECTION

Scheme 107

Scheme 107
  1. Install the manifold gauge set. (See «MANIFOLD GAGES SET INSTALLATION»(ref-194459-S33401512342005092800000) .)
  2. Disconnect the refrigerant pressure switch connector.
  3. Verify the high-pressure side reading of the manifold gage.
  4. Inspect the continuity between the terminals of the refrigerant pressure switch. If not as specified, replace the refrigerant pressure switch.

Scheme 108

Scheme 108: REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
  1. Discharge the refrigerant from the system. (See «REFRIGERANT CHARGING»(ref-194459-S17937427082005092800000) .)
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. CAUTION: If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise will occur. Always immediately plug all open fittings after removing any refrigeration cycle parts to keep moisture or foreign material out of the cycle.
  3. Remove the refrigerant pressure switch.
  4. Install the reverse order of removal.
  5. Perform the refrigerant system performance test. (See «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST»(ref-194459-S36559232582005092800000) .)
