1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the lower panel.
3. Remove the key interlock unit. (See «KEY INTERLOCK UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/mazda/mx-5/nb-2001-2005/remont/automatic-trans/#automatic-transmission-shift-mechanism__key-interlock-unit-removalinstallation) .)
4. Remove in the order indicated in the figure(s).
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
