REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
Note. If equipped with radio anti-theft system, obtain radio code number from customer and deactivate radio anti-theft system before disconnecting battery.
| CAUTION | When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. |
Removal & Installation (Millenia, Protege & 626)
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove door trim panel. Remove screws securing main switch to door trim panel. Pull out main switch and disconnect electrical connector. Remove main switch. To install, reverse removal procedure.
Removal & Installation (MX-5 Miata)
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove center console. Disconnect main switch harness connector. Press retaining clip from underside of console and remove main switch. To install, reverse removal procedure.
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove door trim panel. Remove screw(s) securing sub-switch to door trim panel. Pull out sub-switch and disconnect electrical connector. Remove sub-switch. To install, reverse removal procedure.
Fully open window. Raise window until height of glass (measured at top rear edge) is as specified. See WINDOW HEIGHT SPECIFICATIONS table. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove door trim panel and water shield. Disconnect window motor harness connector. Remove window regulator and motor as an assembly. Securely position regulator arms in full-up position (if possible) to relieve spring pressure. Remove window motor from regulator. To install, reverse removal procedure.
