Service Indicator & Warning Lights Mazda MPV V

Note. Inspect warning lights by turning on ignition with engine off and parking brake on. Check and repair any warning light that does not come on with ignition.

Scheme 1: SERVICE INDICATOR & WARNING LIGHTS

BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT

BRAKE light comes on with parking brake. If light remains on with parking brake off, check fluid.

SEAT BELT WARNING

When ignition is turned on, light and beeper will go on for about 6 seconds or until driver's belt is locked.

CHARGING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT

CHARGE light indicates a malfunction of either the alternator or the electrical wiring system.

MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT

CHECK light warns of a problem somewhere in the engine electrical system. It will also illuminate at 80,000 mile intervals to signal emission control system needs maintenance.

KEY REMINDER WARNING (IF EQUIPPED)

A beep sounds if the key is left in the ignition and the door is opened.

ENGINE OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT

OIL light indicates low oil pressure. If light comes on during vehicle operation, check engine oil level and add fluid as necessary. If light remains on, service immediately. DO NOT run engine if oil pressure is low. Extensive engine damage could result.

DOOR AJAR WARNING

DOOR light comes on with ignition if liftgate or any door is not securely closed.

STOPLIGHT MALFUNCTION WARNING (IF EQUIPPED)

Warning indicates a stoplight is burned out or circuit is malfunctioning.

AUTOMATIC LOAD LEVELLER (ALL) INDICATOR (IF EQUIPPED)

Light flashes while ALL system is adjusting vehicle height. Light will stay on if system is malfunctioning.

HOLD INDICATOR LIGHT

Light comes on when the HOLD mode is selected. This stops automatic speed change operation. If HOLD light flashes, the transmission has an electrical problem. Continued operation under these conditions could cause transmission damage.

4WD INDICATOR (4WD)

Light goes on when 4WD is engaged.

CENTER DIFFERENTIAL LOCK INDICATOR (4WD)

Light goes on when center differential is locked.

LOW INDICATOR (4WD)

Light indicates low range when in 4WD with center differential locked.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE WARNING (4WD)

A/T OIL TEMP light comes on when automatic transmission oil temperature is excessive. If light comes on during vehicle operation, stop and idle engine until light goes off.

ANTI-LOCK BRAKE (ABS) SYSTEM WARNING (IF EQUIPPED)

ANTI-LOCK light comes on when engine is started. If rear wheel ABS control unit determines that all components are okay, light goes out. Continuous glowing indicates system malfunction.

LOW FUEL LEVEL WARNING (IF EQUIPPED)

Light indicates fuel tank will be empty soon.
