WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLE INSTALLATION

  1. Connect the windshield washer hose to windshield washer nozzle.
  2. Push the windshield washer nozzle into the installation hole.
  3. Adjust the windshield washer nozzle. (See «WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLE ADJUSTMENT»(ref-178065-S42584687082005061000000) .)
  4. Install the hood insulator.

  1. Remove the hood insulator.
  2. Partially peel off the right side mud guard.
  3. Remove in the order indicated in the figures.
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Operate the rear wiper motor to set the wiper in the park position.
  2. Set the rear wiper arm onto the ceramics end line.

  1. Remove in the order indicated in the figures.
  2. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Clean the rear wiper arm connector shaft using a wire brush before installing the rear wiper arm.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the rear wiper arm and blade. (See «REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-178065-S34312105962005061000000) .)
  3. Remove the liftgate lower trim. See «LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-178123-S11378640372005061100000) .
  4. Remove in the order indicated in the figures.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  6. Adjust the rear wiper arm and blade. (See «REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ADJUSTMENT»(ref-178065-S38128979162005061000000) .)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the liftgate lower trim. See «LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-178123-S11378640372005061100000) .
  3. Disconnect the rear wiper motor connector.
  4. Connect battery positive voltage to the rear wiper motor terminal A and the ground to a bare metal part of the vehicle and the rear wiper motor terminal B.
  5. Verify that the rear wiper motor operates.
  6. Disconnect the ground to the terminal B while the rear wiper is operating.
  7. Verify that the rear wiper stops in the park position. If not as specified, replace the rear wiper motor.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Partially peel off the right side mud guard.

  4. Remove in the order indicated in the figures.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 23: REAR WASHER MOTOR INSPECTION
  1. Remove the washer tank. (See «WASHER TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-178065-S00875218072005061000000) .)
  2. Connect battery positive voltage to the terminal B and ground to the terminal A of the motor.
  3. Verify that the rear washer motor operates. If the motor does not operate, replace the rear washer motor.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the liftgate lower trim. See «LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-178123-S11378640372005061100000) .
  3. Remove the rear washer hose from the rear washer nozzle.
  4. Compress the hooks of the rear washer nozzle.
  5. Pull the rear washer nozzle out to remove it.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Adjust the rear washer nozzle. (See «REAR WASHER NOZZLE ADJUSTMENT»(ref-178065-S28414898762005061000000) .)

Scheme 25: REAR WASHER NOZZLE ADJUSTMENT
  1. Insert a needle or equivalent tool into the spray hole of the rear washer nozzle and adjust the nozzle direction as shown.

INTERMITTENT REAR WIPER RELAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Note. Because the intermittent rear wiper relay is damaged easily, do not remove it from the bracket unless replacement is necessary. Always perform an inspection of the intermittent wiper relay before removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the bracket.
  3. Disconnect the connector.
  4. Remove the intermittent rear wiper relay.
  5. Install in the reverse order or removal.
