Accessing Trouble Codes
- Use Self Diagnostic Checker (49 H018 9A1) to retrieve trouble codes. Connect one lead of self diagnostic checker to negative battery terminal and the other to Green 6-pin check connector. Connector is located at left front wheelwell. (Scheme 19) Using jumper wire, ground Green 1-pin test connector. Connector is located at left front wheelwell. (Scheme 20)
- With ignition on and engine stopped, observe Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL). Note trouble codes. If light remains on continuously, or does not light, see «MIL DIAGNOSIS»(ref-18263-S11185282782000123000000).
Note. On Federal MPVs, the CHECK engine warning light will come on every 80,000 miles to indicate oxygen sensor service is needed. To reset the light refer to MAINTENANCE REMINDER LIGHT RESET PROCEDURES .

Clearing Trouble Codes
Disconnect negative battery cable for at least 20 seconds. Reconnect battery cable. Reconnect self diagnostic checker and jumper wire. (Scheme 19)and (Scheme 20). Turn ignition on, but DO NOT start engine for 6 seconds. Start and run engine at 2000 RPM for 3 minutes. Verify no codes are displayed.
