INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7]
| WARNING | When the engine and intake-air system are hot, they can badly burn. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before removing the intake-air system. Fuel vapor is hazardous. It can easily ignite, causing serious injury and damage. Always keep sparks and flames away from fuel. Fuel line spills and leakage are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedure". |
Scheme 7
- Complete the "BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION". (See «BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [MZI-3.7]»(ref-663018-S03587152922014101600000) .)
- Remove the battery. (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7]»(ref-663012-S16021955892014101600000) .)
- Remove the engine cover. (See «ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7]»(ref-663015-S15271151742014101600000) .)
- Disconnect the wiring harness.
- Remove in the order indicated in the table in the illustration.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Complete the "AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION". (See «AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION [MZI-3.7]»(ref-663018-S01792324912014101600000) .)

- Drain the engine coolant. (See «ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [MZI-3.7]»(ref-663017-S17886152422014101600000) .)
- Disconnect the following parts: Upper radiator hose Lower radiator hose Two water hose from the thermostat component Thermostat component side of the water inlet pipe which is under the intake manifold
- Remove the intake manifold and thermostat component as a single unit
- Remove the thermostat component from the intake manifold.

- Tighten the intake manifold installation bolts in the order shown in the illustration. Intake manifold installation bolt tightening torque 8.5-11.5 N.m {87-117 kgf.cm, 76-101 in.lbf}

- Tighten the dynamic chamber installation bolts in the order shown in the illustration. Dynamic chamber installation bolt tightening torque 8.5-11.5 N.m {87-117 kgf.cm, 76-101 in.lbf}
