- Press the fuse block and remove it from the bracket.
- Set the fuse block out of the way.

- When removing or installing the bolt, lock the A/C compressor pulley against rotation using the following procedure. CAUTION: When connecting the positive battery cable to the magnetic clutch connector, use a cable with a female terminal of the correct size. Otherwise, load will be applied to the terminal, resulting in deformation or damage, and poor contact. In addition, the positive battery cable could disconnect from the connector resulting in a short circuit. Connect battery positive voltage to magnetic clutch terminal A, connect terminal B to ground. Wrap the drive belt, which is no longer of use, tightly around the A/C compressor pulley. Hold the drive belt in place with pliers. Remove/installation the bolt. Tightening torque 18 N.m {1.8 kgf.m, 13 ft.lbf}

- Install the snap ring so that the tapered area is on the pressure plate side.

- Secure the A/C compressor to the vise.
- Secure the magnet base to the vise and install the dial gauge to the position shown in the illustration.
- Set the dial gauge to 0.
- Connect battery voltage to stator terminal A and the stator terminal B to ground to operate the magnet clutch.
- Verify that the dial gauge graduation is within the standard. If not within the specification, replace the magnetic clutch component with a new one and adjust the clearance. Magnetic clutch clearance 0.35-0.65 mm {0.014-0.025 in}

- Adjust the clearance by changing the shim size or the number of shims so that the specified clearance is obtained.

- Connect battery positive voltage to magnetic clutch terminal A, connect terminal B to ground.
- Verify that the magnetic clutch operates. If there is any malfunction, replace the magnetic clutch.

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the cover from the dashboard using a flathead screwdriver wrapped with protective tape.
- Detach the solar radiation sensor connector tab in the position shown in the illustration and disconnect the solar radiation sensor connector.
- Press the solar radiation sensor tab and remove the solar radiation sensor from the cover.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Using a tester, connect the positive (+) lead to solar radiation sensor terminal A, the negative (-) lead to terminal B or C, then measure the resistance. If the resistance is not normal, replace the solar radiation sensor. Resistance except infinity ohms
- Block the light to the solar radiation sensor, connect the positive (+) lead of a tester to solar radiation sensor terminal B or C and negative (-) lead to terminal A, then measure the resistance. If the resistance is not normal, replace the solar radiation sensor. Resistance infinity ohms (no continuity)
- Expose the solar radiation sensor to natural sunlight.
- Using a tester, connect the positive (+) lead to solar radiation sensor terminal B or C, the negative (-) lead to terminal A, then measure the resistance. If the resistance is not normal, replace the solar radiation sensor. Resistance except infinity ohms

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the under cover.
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Measure the temperature around the ambient temperature sensor and measure the resistance between the ambient temperature sensor terminal. If the characteristics of the ambient temperature sensor are not as shown in the graph, replace the ambient temperature sensor.

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.

- Remove the screw.
- Remove the cabin temperature sensor cover in the direction shown in illustration.
- Remove the cabin temperature sensor.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Measure the temperature around the cabin temperature sensor and measure the resistance between cabin temperature sensor terminal. If the characteristics of the cabin temperature sensor are not as shown in the graph, replace the cabin temperature sensor.
