AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

CAUTIONWhen installing the audio unit, make sure that the wiring harness and antenna feeder are not caught between the unit and dashboard. If the wiring harness or the antenna feeder is caught between the unit and dashboard, it may cause malfunctions. Pressing the switch area of the audio unit when installing it could result in a malfunction. Therefore only press the hatched area shown in the figure.

  3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

AUDIO AMPLIFIER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Note. Some vehicles are equipped with the audio amplifier cover depending on the vehicle production period.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the sub trunk box. (See «SUB TRUNK BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375422-S36700633102010102800000) .)
  3. Fold the second-row seat backs forward.
  4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  6. Perform the audio amplifier configuration after replacing the audio amplifier. (See «AUDIO AMPLIFIER CONFIGURATION»(ref-375342-S01769102172010102800000) .) CAUTION: Perform the audio amplifier configuration after replacing the audio amplifier to assure that the audio system operates correctly.

ANTENNA FEEDER NO.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Partially peel back the seaming welt.

  3. Disconnect the antenna feeder NO.1.
  4. Disconnect the antenna feeder NO.3.
  5. Verify that the continuity between antenna feeder NO.2 terminals is as indicated in the table. If not as indicated in the table, replace antenna feeder NO.2.

  3. Partially peel back the headliner.
  4. Disconnect the connector.
  5. Remove the clips A and B.
  6. Remove the antenna feeder NO.3.
  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  3. Partially peel back the headliner.
  4. Disconnect the connector.
  5. Verify that the continuity between antenna feeder NO.3 terminals is as indicated in the table. If not as indicated in the table, replace antenna feeder NO.3.

SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA FEEDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

CAUTIONIf the SIRIUS satellite radio antenna feeder is installed with tension on the cable and wiring harness it could result in loosening of the connection areas and poor contact. When installing and connecting the antenna feeder, always make sure there is slack on the cable and wiring harness.

Note. SIRIUS satellite radio antenna feeder is integrated with the rear wiring harness. When installing a new SIRIUS satellite radio antenna feeder, secure it to the vehicle wiring harness along the installation route of the old SIRIUS satellite radio antenna feeder.

  4. Remove the screw.
  5. Remove the wiring harness from the cover hook.
  6. Remove the cover tabs and pins from the steering wheel.
  7. Remove the cover.
  8. Disconnect the connector.
  9. Remove the screw.
  10. Remove the steering switch pins from the steering wheel.
  11. Remove the steering switch.
  12. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  3. Disconnect the steering switch connector.
  4. Verify the resistance between the steering switch terminals. If not within the specification, replace the steering switch.
  5. Apply battery positive voltage to steering switch terminal O, and connect terminal E to ground.
  6. Verify that the LED illuminates. If the LED does not illuminate, replace the steering switch.

  3. Disconnect the steering switch connector.
  4. Verify the resistance between the steering switch terminals. If not within the specification, replace the steering switch.

  6. Verify that the LED illuminates. If the LED does not illuminate, replace the steering switch.

  3. Remove the microphone in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure while pressing the microphone tabs in the direction of the arrow (1) using a tape-wrapped fastener remover.
