DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
Generator is a conventional 3-phase, self-rectifying type with 6 diodes (3 positive and 3 negative) that rectify current. On all models except Protege, generator contains an integral solid state voltage regulator. On Protege, voltage regulation is controlled by Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
