STEERING LOCK UNIT INSPECTION [WITH ADVANCED KEYLESS ENTRY AND PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM]

  1. Remove the column cover. (See «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S36009183262013101400000) .)
  2. Measure each terminal voltage under the measurement condition. If the voltage is not as specified in the terminal voltage table, inspect the parts under "Inspection item(s)". If the system does not work normally even though the inspection items are normal, replace the steering lock unit.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the following parts: Upper panel (See «UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S15065956352013101400000).) Decoration panel (See «DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S30597239632013101400000).) Shift knob (MTX) (See «MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581615-S07668845722013101400000).) Shift panel (See «SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S38776581642013101400000).) Center panel lower (See «CENTER PANEL LOWER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S05740589362013101400000).)
  3. Release the tabs and remove the push button start from the center panel lower. (Scheme 4): Push Button Start Components And Center Panel Lower
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the following parts: Upper panel (See «UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S15065956352013101400000).) Decoration panel (See «DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S30597239632013101400000).) Shift knob (MTX) (See «MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581615-S07668845722013101400000).) Shift panel (See «SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S38776581642013101400000).) Center panel lower (See «CENTER PANEL LOWER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S05740589362013101400000).) Push button start (See «PUSH BUTTON START REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH ADVANCED KEYLESS ENTRY AND PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM]»(ref-581640-S26233673752013101400000).)
  3. Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table. (Scheme 5): Push Button Start Circuit (With Advanced Keyless Entry And Push Button Start System) If not as indicated in the table, replace the push button start. (Scheme 6): Push Button Start Terminals Continuity Chart (With Advanced Keyless Entry And Push Button Start System)
  4. Apply battery positive voltage and connect the ground to the push button start terminals and verify that the LED illuminates. If the LEDs does not illuminate, replace the push button start.   1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  3. Remove the knee bolster. (See «KNEE BOLSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S28871510292013101400000).)
  4. Remove the wiring harness clip. (Scheme 8): Wiring Harness Clips
  5. Remove the clips.
  6. Remove the relay block. (Scheme 9): Identifying Relay Block
  7. Disconnect the connectors. (Scheme 10): Relay Block And Connectors
  8. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  5. Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table. (Scheme 11): Relay Block Circuit (With Advanced Keyless Entry And Push Button Start System) If not as indicated in the table, replace the relay block.   1. Connect the M-MDS (IDS) to the DLC-2. (Scheme 13): Identifying DLC-2
  2. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initial screen of the M-MDS (IDS). Select the "Module Programming".
  3. Then, select items from the screen menu in the following order. Select "Programmable Parameters". Select "RKE".
  4. Select an item name, and then select option.
