Diagnostic Procedure

StepINSPECTIONAction
1Operate power windows by power window main switch. Does power window operate?YesGo to the next step.
NoInspect the following part and repair or replace the suspect part: Power window main switch (See POWER WINDOW MAIN SWITCH INSPECTION. ) Power window regulator Battery voltage
2Activate automatic function Does the function operate?YesGo to the next step.
NoInitialize the power window. (See POWER WINDOW INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE. )
3Lock or unlock the doors using the key. Do the doors lock/unlock properly?YesInspect the open circuit in wiring harness between power window main switch and the BCM. Repair or replace the suspect wiring harness.
NoInspect BCM. Replace the BCM if necessary. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

StepINSPECTIONAction
1Lock or unlock the doors using the transmitter. Do all doors lock/unlock properly?YesInspect the following part and repair or replace the suspect part: Keyless unit BCM (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) INSPECTION. )
NoGo to the next step.
2Make sure that all doors, lift gate and trunk are closed. Are all doors, lift gate and trunk closed?YesGo to the next step.
NoThe system is normal. Explain to the customer that the system does not operate if any door leaves open.
3Make sure that the ignition key is inserted the steering lock. Is the ignition key inserted into the steering lock?YesThe system is normal. Explain to the customer that the system does not operate if the ignition key is inserted the steering lock.
NoGo to the next step.
4Do all doors lock/unlock properly now?YesThe system is normal. Go to Step 1 if the same symptom is duplicated.
NoInspect the following part and repair or replace the suspect part: Keyless unit Open circuit in wiring harness between keyless unit and BCM.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

StepINSPECTIONAction
1Lock or unlock doors using key. Do doors lock/unlock properly?YesInspect the BCM. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) INSPECTION. ) Replace BCM if necessary. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
NoInspect key cylinder switch. Repair or replace the key cylinder switch if necessary.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

StepINSPECTIONAction
1Operate the power windows by power window sub-switch. Does the power window operate properly?YesGo to the next step.
NoInspect the following part and repair or replace the suspect part: Power window sub-switch (See POWER WINDOW SUB-SWITCH INSPECTION. ) Power window regulator Battery voltage
2Active automatic function. Does the function operate?YesInspect open circuit in the wiring harness between power window main switch and power window sub-switch. Repair or replace the suspect wiring harness if necessary.
NoInitialize the power window.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

StepINSPECTIONACTION
1Stop to open/close the window operation by power window main/sub-switch. Are the power window automatic stop function and manual stop function normal?YesInspect the following parts and repair or replace the suspect part: Power window main switch (See POWER WINDOW MAIN SWITCH INSPECTION. ) Power window sub-switch (See POWER WINDOW SUB-SWITCH INSPECTION. ) Power window regulator Battery voltage Door glass installation condition
NoGo to the next step.
2Does the power window automatic stop function operate?YesInitialize the power window. (See POWER WINDOW INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE. )
NoGo to the next step.
3Stop to close the power window by the transmitter. Does the system stop to open the window?YesInspect the following parts and repair or replace the suspect part: Keyless unit BCM (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) INSPECTION. )
NoGo to the next step.
4Stop to close the power window by the transmitter. Does the system stop to close the window?YesInspect the following part and repair or replace the suspect part: Keyless unit BCM (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) INSPECTION. ) Keyless system inoperative due to out side of operating area or outside interference on the transmitter
NoGo to the next step.
5Stop to operate the power window by key. Does the system work properly?YesInspect the following part and repair or replace the suspect part: Key cylinder switch BCM (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) INSPECTION. )
NoThe system is normal. Go to Step 1 if the same symptom is duplicated.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEPINSPECTIONACTION
1Door glass opens in the closing operation by the power window main/sub-switch. Does the system work properly?YesInspect the power window regulator. Repair or replace it if necessary.
NoInspect the following part and repair or replace the suspect part: Door glass installation condition Power window regulator Battery NOTE: Outside temperature and/or vehicle battery voltage condition may cause the incorrect operation of the power window (e.g., Door glass automatically opens in the closing operation)
NOTE
Outside temperature and/or vehicle battery voltage condition may cause the incorrect operation of the power window (e.g., Door glass automatically opens in the closing operation)

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
