Using the WDS or Equivalent
Note. PIDs for the following parts are not available on this model. Perform the specific inspections for the following parts: CMP sensor (See CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR INSPECTION [L3 WITH TC] ). Main relay (See RELAY INSPECTION ).
Scheme 175
- Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Measure the PID value. If PID value is not within the specification, follow the instructions in the "Inspection item" column. NOTE: The PID/DATA MONITOR function monitors the calculated value of the input/output signals in the PCM. Therefore, an output device malfunction is not directly indicated as a malfunction of the monitored value for the output device. If a monitored value of an output device is out of specification, inspect the monitored value of the input device related to the output control. For input/output signals except those of the monitoring items, use a voltmeter to measure the PCM terminal voltage. The simulation items that are used in the ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION INSPECTION are as follows. ACCS, ALTF, ARPMDES, FAN_DUTY, EVAPCP, FP, FUELPW1, GENVDSD, HTR11, HTR12, IMRC, INJ_1, INJ_2, INJ_3, INJ_4, SEGRP, test, VT DUTY1, WGC

| CAUTION | The PCM terminal voltages vary with change in measuring conditions and vehicle conditions. Always carry out a total inspection of the input systems, output systems, and PCM to determine the cause of trouble. Otherwise, a wrong diagnosis will be made. |
- Measure the voltage at each terminal. If any incorrect voltage is detected, inspect the related system(s), wiring harnesses and connector(s) referring to the Action column in the terminal voltage table.

PCM CONFIGURATION [L3 WITH TC]
- Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2.
- Perform the vehicle identification procedure
- Select "toolbox" and "Module Programming".
- Select "Programmable Module Installation".
- Select "PCM" and perform procedures according to directions. NOTE: If the PCM is replaced with a new one without performing "Programmable Module Installation" procedure, the PCM will be set DTC P0602 and illuminates the MIL. This is because the configuration data is not programmed in the PCM.
- Retrieve DTCs with the WDS or equivalent, erase them, and verify that there are no DTCs present and the MIL is off. If DTCs are still present, perform applicable DTC inspection.

- Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
- Using the WDS or equivalent, monitor the following: Vehicle speed (PID: VSS) Engine speed (PID: RPM) Rear HO2S voltage (PID: O2S12)
- Drive the vehicle and decelerate the engine speed by releasing the accelerator pedal fully when the engine speed is 3,000 RPM or more.
- Verify that the rear HO2S outputs a voltage of 0.6 V or more , one time or more, then verify that the rear HO2S voltage (PID: O2S12) is 0.3 V or less while decelerating as shown in the figure. If not within the specification, inspect the HO2S for an open or short circuit. (See «REAR HO2S CIRCUIT OPEN/SHORT INSPECTION (SENSOR)»(ref-244577-S09241545312006092500000) ).
