GPS ANTENNA FEEDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

CAUTIONIf the GPS antenna feeder is installed with tension on the cable and wiring harness it could result in loosening of the connection areas and poor contact. When installing and connecting the GPS antenna feeder, always make sure there is slack on the cable and wiring harness.

Note. The GPS antenna feeder is integrated with the vehicle wiring harness.

  3. Secure the new GPS antenna feeder to the vehicle wiring harness along the installation route of the old GPS antenna feeder.

  1. Verify that there is no continuity between the GPS antenna feeder terminal A and B.
  2. Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table. If not as indicated in the table, replace the GPS antenna feeder.

Scheme 24: AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See «DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292926-S08983945512008080600000) .)
  3. Remove the steering wheel. (See «STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292891-S35675246712008080600000) .)
  4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 25: Audio Control Switch Installation Note
  1. Install the audio control switch so that the audio control switch wiring harness passes behind the steering wheel as shown in the figure.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the driver-side air bag module.(See «DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292926-S08983945512008080600000) .)
  3. Disconnect the audio control switch connector.
  4. Verify the resistance and continuity between the audio control switch terminal c and d. If the resistance and continuity are not as indicated in the tables, replace the audio control switch. R: : Resistance. See the table.   5. Connect the positive battery to the audio control switch terminal F, the negative battery to the audio control switch terminal E.
  6. Verify that LED illuminated. If there is any malfunction replace the audio control switch.

  3. Remove the microphone.
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  3. Remove the front console. (See «FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292888-S22395177942008080600000) .)
  4. Disconnect the auxiliary jack connector.
  5. Squeeze the tabs of auxiliary jack and pull it outward to remove it.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Connect a commercially-available nonresistant plug to the auxiliary jack.
  2. Verify that the continuity between the auxiliary jack terminals is as indicated in the table. If not as indicated in the table, replace the auxiliary jack.

  1. While pressing a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver against the cap projection, pull the accessory socket outward.

  1. Connect a tester as shown in the figure and verify that there is continuity. If the continuity cannot be verified, replace the accessory socket.
