1. Remove the front door glass.
2. Detach the outer handle and front door latch rod.
3. Detach the rod from the outer handle.
4. Remove the nut, then remove the pad.
5. Remove the bolt.
6. With the rear side of the outer handle fixed and the outer handle lever pulled out (1), remove the rear side of the outer handle from the front door.
7. Pull out the front side of the outer handle from the front door.
8. Install in the reverse order of removal.

1. Remove the battery cover. (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3]»(ref-292887-S30644836642008080600000) .)
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the front door trim. (See «FRONT DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292888-S14556833772008080600000) .)
4. Using a flathead screwdriver, press and hold the tab in the direction indicated by arrow (1), and remove the shaft by pulling it in the direction indicated by arrow (2).
5. Pull off the inner handle, and remove the door lock knob cable and inner handle cable.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

1. Remove the sliding door trim. (See «SLIDING DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292888-S16543462232008080600000) .)
2. Remove the sliding door glass. (See «SLIDING DOOR GLASS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292977-S35561972082008080600000) .)
3. Remove the sliding door lock actuator. (See «SLIDING DOOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292960-S20459156142008080600000) .)
4. Remove the sliding door module. (See «SLIDING DOOR MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292960-S11098894212008080600000) .)
5. Remove the bolts.
6. Secure the rear part of the sliding door outer handle and, with the sliding door outer handle lever pulled outward (1), remove the rear part of the sliding door outer handle from the sliding door.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the inner handle cover. (See «FRONT DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292888-S14556833772008080600000) .)
3. Remove the screws, then remove the door lock switch.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

1. Remove the door lock switch.
2. Inspect for continuity between the door lock switch terminals using an ohmmeter. If not as specified, replace the door lock switch.

Scheme 21

1. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
2. Install in the reverse order of removal.
3. Adjust the hood. (See «HOOD ADJUSTMENT»(ref-292918-S33664228802008080600000) .)

Scheme 22

1. Pull the lever.
2. While pushing the tab in the direction of the arrow using a tape-wrapped, small flathead screwdriver, detach it from the lower panel. CAUTION: Remove the hood release lever while taking care not to damage the hood release cable with the flathead screwdriver.
3. Under the condition in Step 2 , pull the hood release lever outward, then remove it from the lower panel.

1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the battery cover. (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3]»(ref-292887-S30644836642008080600000) .)
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Disconnect the hood latch switch connector.
5. Inspect for continuity between the hood latch switch terminals A and B. If there is continuity, replace the hood latch.
6. Lock the hood latch using a flathead screwdriver or equivalent as shown.
7. Inspect for continuity between the hood latch switch terminals A and B. If there is no continuity, replace the hood latch switch. CAUTION: After the Inspection, unlock the hood latch. If closing the hood with the hood latch locked, the hood latch and/or hood striker may be broken.

Scheme 25

1. To remove the fuel-filler lid opener, remove the left side trunk side trim.
2. To remove the fuel-filler lid opener cable, perform the following and partially peel back the floor covering. Remove the driver-side front seat. (See «FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292922-S17155529802008080600000) .) Remove the driver-side front scuff plate. (See «FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292888-S11748287832008080600000) .) Remove the driver-side rear scuff plate. (See «REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292888-S27858191902008080600000) .) Remove the driver-side B-pillar lower trim. (See «B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292888-S09290667872008080600000) .) Remove the passenger-side trunk side trim. (See «TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292888-S33319963922008080600000) .)
3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
5. Adjust the fuel-filler lid. (See «FUEL-FILLER LID ADJUSTMENT»(ref-292918-S34545196232008080600000) .)

Scheme 26

1. Disconnect the rod.
2. Remove the front outer handle. (See «FRONT OUTER HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292928-S31615235992008080600000) .)
3. Turn the key cylinder in the direction indicated by the arrow and move the tab to the notch.
4. Pull the key cylinder outward to remove it.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
