Open circuit
- If there is no continuity, the circuit is open. Repair or replace the wiring harness. Throttle actuator terminal F and PCM terminal 2A Throttle actuator terminal E and PCM terminal 2B
Short circuit

- Remove the variable intake air solenoid valve. (See «INTAKE AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3]»(ref-244332-S08851886592006092100000) ).
- Inspect airflow between the ports under the following conditions. If not as specified, replace the variable intake air solenoid valve. If as specified, carry out the "Circuit Open/Short Inspection".

- Disconnect the PCM connector. (See «PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3]»(ref-244330-S07461751642006092100000) ).
- Inspect the following wiring harness for open or short (continuity check).
- If there is no continuity, the circuit is open. Repair or replace the wiring harness. Variable intake air solenoid valve terminal A and PCM terminal 2AJ Variable intake air solenoid valve terminal B and main relay terminal C
- If there is continuity, the circuit is shorted. Repair or replace the wiring harness. Variable intake air solenoid valve terminal A and power supply Variable intake air solenoid valve terminal A and body ground Variable intake air solenoid valve terminal B and body ground

- Disconnect the vacuum hose from the variable intake air shutter valve actuator.
- Connect a vacuum pump to the variable intake air shutter valve actuator.

- Inspect airflow between the ports under the following conditions. If not as specified, replace the variable tumble solenoid valve. If as specified, carry out the "Circuit Open/Short Inspection".
