- Operate the windshield wipers, and then turn off the windshield wiper motor to set the wipers in the auto stop position.
- Slide the serrated connecting part and adjust the windshield wiper arm and blade so that its end is aligned with the hollowed mark in the ceramic coating. (Scheme 4): Identifying Windshield Wiper Arm And Blade End With Hollowed Mark In Ceramic Coating NOTE: If the hollowed mark in the ceramic coating cannot be located, measure the distance from the cowl grille end line, and adjust the windshield wiper arm and blade. - Stick masking tape on the figure. CAUTION: If the front wiper motor is removed without affixing protective tape to the windshield, the motor may contact the windshield and damage it. Always affix protective tape along the edge of the windshield when removing the front wiper motor. Stick masking tape on the position to show in the figure of the windshield. - Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
- Remove the windshield wiper motor. (See «WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR REMOVE NOTE»(ref-579338-S10808812862013100700000).)
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 8: Windshield Wiper Motor Remove Note
- Slide the windshield wiper motor in the direction of the left front fender and pull it out from between the windshield and the cowl panel. (Scheme 8): Sliding Windshield Wiper Motor Of Left Front Fender
- Be careful when removing the windshield wiper motor so that it does not strike the windshield. If the windshield wiper motor hits the windshield, it could cause damage to the windshield.

- Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

Scheme 10: Windshield Wiper Motor Assembly Note
- Connect the windshield wiper motor to the vehicle wiring harness connector, operate the windshield wipers, and then stop them at the auto stop position.
- Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
- Install the windshield wiper motor to the main link and tighten the bolt.
- Assemble the crank arm such that the crank arm and main link markings are aligned as shown in the figure. (Scheme 10): Identifying Crank Arm And Main Link Markings With Torque Specifications
- Install the washer and nut.

- Disconnect windshield wiper motor connector.
- Connect the battery positive voltage to windshield wiper motor terminal A or B, connect terminal C to the ground, then verify the windshield wiper operation.
- Verify that the windshield wiper operates as indicated in the following table. (Scheme 12): Identifying Windshield Wiper Motor Connector Terminals (A And B) If the windshield wipers do not operate as indicated in the table, replace the windshield wiper motor. Terminal connected to battery positive voltage Operation condition A LO B HI
- Disconnect battery positive voltage from terminal A or B during wiper operation.
- Verify that the wipers do not stop in auto stop condition.
- Connect windshield wiper motor terminals A and D, and apply battery positive voltage to terminal E.
- Verify that the windshield wipers operate at low speed again and they are at the auto stop position. If there is any malfunction, replace the windshield wiper motor.
