FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

WARNINGIncorrect servicing of the discharge headlights could result in electrical shock. Before servicing the discharge headlights, always refer to the discharge headlight service warnings. (See DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT SERVICE WARNINGS .)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5]»(ref-579330-S31782573982013100700000).)   2. Remove the front bumper. (See «FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-579342-S31619184642013100700000).)
  3. Disconnect the connector. (Scheme 30): Front Combination Light, Connector And Bolts With Torque Specification
  4. Remove the bolt A.
  5. Remove the bolt B.
  6. Remove the bolt C.
  7. Remove the fastener.
  8. Pull the front combination light in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the pin from the body. (Scheme 31): Pulling Front Combination Light And Pin
  9. Remove the front combination light.
  10. Remove the bolts D. (Scheme 32): Front Combination Light, Bracket And Bolts D With Torque Specification
  11. Remove the bracket in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure while pressing the bracket tabs in the direction of the arrow (1). (Scheme 33): Pressing Bracket Tabs
  12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  13. Adjust the headlight aiming. (See «HEADLIGHT AIMING»(ref-579340-S29759205522013100700000).)

FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT BRACKET REPLACEMENT

Note. Verify that the front combination light is not damaged before using the repair bracket for installation when the original brackets are damaged. If the front combination light component is damaged, replace the light as a single unit.

  1. Cut off the front combination light bracket at the locations shown in the figure. (Scheme 34): Cutting Off Front Combination Light Bracket At Locations
  2. Smoothen the cut surfaces using sandpaper so that the repair bracket can be properly installed.
  3. Cut the projection at the position shown in the figure. (Scheme 35): Cutting Projection At Position
  4. After disconnecting the projection, verify that the projection is less than 1mm {0.04 in} from the front combination light housing.
  5. Securely attach the repair bracket to the front combination light using the screws. (Scheme 36): Attaching Bracket To Front Combination Light Using Screws

  2. Disconnect the connector. (Scheme 37): Identifying Headlight Bulb (LO) And Connector
  3. Remove the cover. (Scheme 38): Identifying Headlight Bulb (LO), Adaptor And Cover
  4. Remove the adaptor.
  5. Remove the headlight bulb (LO). CAUTION: A halogen bulb generates extremely high heat when it is illuminated. If the surface of the bulb is soiled, excessive heat will build up and the life of the bulb will be shortened. When replacing the bulb, hold the metal flange, not the glass.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  2. Disconnect the connector. (Scheme 39): Identifying Headlight Bulb (HI) And Connector
  3. Rotate the headlight bulb (HI) in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure to remove it. (Scheme 40): Rotating Headlight Bulb (HI)
  4. Remove the headlight bulb (HI). CAUTION: A halogen bulb generates extremely high heat when it is illuminated. If the surface of the bulb is soiled, excessive heat will build up and the life of the bulb will be shortened. When replacing the bulb, hold the metal flange, not the glass.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Discharge headlight connector installation note

CAUTIONIf the installation direction of the discharge headlight connector is incorrect when the connector is installed, the connector may contact the front combination light housing during the AFS operation and the AFS may not operate normally. After installing the connector to the position shown in the figure, verify that the connector does not contact the front combination light housing.

  5. Disconnect the connector A.
  6. Remove the screw. (Scheme 43): Identifying Discharge Headlight Control Module, Connector B And Screws
  7. Disconnect the connector B.
  8. Remove the discharge headlight control module.
  9. Rotate the cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure to remove it. (Scheme 44): Rotating Front Combination Light Cover
  10. Rotate the connector in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure to remove it. (Scheme 45): Rotating Front Combination Light Connector
  11. Remove the short cord. (Scheme 46): Identifying Short Cord
  12. Install in the reverse order of removal.

STEERING ANGLE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

  1. Switch the ignition to off.

  2. Turn the steering wheel to the right and left, and verify that the voltage and pulses at the terminals are as shown in the figure. If not as specified, replace the steering angle sensor. (Scheme 48): Identifying Steering Angle Sensor Connector Terminals

  4. Disconnect the connector A. see scheme 135: Identifying Combination Switch Connector A
  5. Disconnect the connector B. see scheme 136: Identifying Combination Switch Connector B
  6. Detach the clips and set the wiring harness aside.
  7. Remove the screws. see scheme 137: Identifying Combination Switch And Screws
  8. Remove the combination switch.
  9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
