FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

WARNINGHandling a front seat (with built-in side air bag) improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings before handling a front seat (with built-in side air bag). (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS .)
CAUTIONAfter removing a front seat, do not operate the slider lever. If the slider lever is operated, the left and right slide positions will deviate, and the slide adjuster may be damaged after the front seat is installed. Verify that there are no malfunctions in the sliding mechanism after installing a front seat. When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean rag so as not to damage or soil the seat. When the passenger's seat is removed, perform the seat weight sensor inspection using the M-MDS after installing the passenger's seat. (See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR INSPECTION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) When the passenger's seat is replaced with a new one, perform the seat weight sensor calibration using the M-MDS. Note. When removing the front seat out of the vehicle or putting it back in, it can be performed smoothly by removing the headrest.

  1. Switch the ignition to off.

  4. Detach hook A while pulling the adjuster cover No.1 and No.2 in the direction of the arrow (1), and remove it in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure. (Scheme 6): Pulling Adjuster Cover No.1 And No.2
  5. Detach hook B while pulling the adjuster cover No.3 in the direction of the arrow (3), (4) and remove it in the direction of arrow (5) shown in the figure. (Scheme 7): Pulling Adjuster Cover No.3
  6. Pull up the adjuster cover No.4 in the direction of arrow (6) shown in the figure, while remove the hook C. (Scheme 8): Pulling Up Adjuster Cover No.4

  8. Disconnect the connector. (Scheme 9): Identifying Front Seat Connector
  9. Remove the bolts, then remove the front seat. (Scheme 10): Front Seat Bolts With Torque Specification
  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  4. Detach hook A while pulling the adjuster cover No.1 and No.2 in the direction of the arrow (1), and remove it in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure. (Scheme 11): Pulling Adjuster Cover No.1 And No.2
  5. Detach hook B while pulling the adjuster cover No.3 in the direction of the arrow (3), (4) and remove it in the direction of arrow (5) shown in the figure. (Scheme 12): Pulling Adjuster Cover No.3
  6. Pull up the adjuster cover No.4 in the direction of arrow (6) shown in the figure, while remove the hook C. (Scheme 13): Pull Up Adjuster Cover No.4

  8. Remove the bolts, then remove the front seat. (Scheme 14): Front Seat Bolts With Torque Specification

  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  5. Remove the lower anchor of the front seat belt installation bolt. (See «FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]»(ref-520505-S38556519212013010300000).)   6. Detach hook A and B while pulling the adjuster cover No.1 in the direction of the arrow (1), (2) and remove it in the direction of arrow (3) shown in the figure. (Scheme 16): Pulling Adjuster Cover No.1
  7. Detach hook C while pulling the adjuster cover No.3 in the direction of the arrow (4) and remove it in the direction of arrow (5) shown in the figure, while remove the tab D, F and hook E. (Scheme 17): Removing Tab D, F And Hook E
  8. Detach hook G and H while pulling the adjuster cover No.4 in the direction of the arrow (6), (7) and remove it in the direction of arrow (8) shown in the figure, while remove the tab I and J. (Scheme 18): Pulling Adjuster Cover No.4 CAUTION: When pulling the adjuster cover No.4, be careful not to damage the hooks and tabs.
  9. Disconnect the connector. (Scheme 19): Identifying Front Seat Connector
  10. Remove the bolts, then remove the front seat. (Scheme 20): Front Seat Bolts With Torque Specification
  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  4. Remove the front seat. (See «FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-520455-S27188652042013010300000).)
  5. Remove the headrest.
  6. Remove the side cover. (See «FRONT SEAT COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [VEHICLES WITHOUT POWER SEAT SYSTEM]»(ref-520455-S23553289132013010300000).)
  7. Cut the band securing the wiring harness. (Scheme 21): Identifying Side Air Bag Connector, Seat Warmer Connector, Side Air Bag Wiring Harness And Wiring Harness Band
  8. Disconnect the side air bag connector and seat warmer connector (Vehicles with power seat system).
  9. Remove the bolts and nut, then remove the front seat back component. (Scheme 22): Front Seat Back Component Bolts And Nut With Torque Specification
  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min or more.

  5. Remove the headrest.
  6. Cut the band securing the wiring harness. (Scheme 23): Identifying Side Air Bag Connector, Seat Warmer Connector And Side Air Bag Wiring Harness Band (Vehicle Without Power Seat System) (Scheme 24): Identifying Side Air Bag Connector, Seat Warmer Connector And Power Unit Connector (Vehicle With Power Seat System)
  7. Disconnect the side air bag connector and seat warmer connector (Vehicles with power seat system).
  8. Slide hook A in the order shown in the figure to detach it from hook B. (Scheme 25): Sliding Front Seat Hook A
  9. Open the fastener. (Scheme 26): Releasing Pole Guide Tabs
  10. Partially peal back the front seat back trim, release the pole guide tabs in the direction of arrow (4) shown in the figure, then pull the pole guide out in the direction of arrow (5).
  11. Remove the nut and remove the holder bracket A.
  12. Remove the holder hook B in the order of (6), (7) as shown in the figure. (Scheme 27): Holder Bracket A And Nut With Torque Specification (Scheme 28): Holder Hook B
  13. Pull out part A shown in the figure to the front. (Scheme 29): Pulling Out Front Seat Back Trim
  14. Remove the seat back trim and the seat back pad as a single unit from the seat frame by pulling them in the direction of the arrow. (Scheme 30): Removing Seat Back Trim And Seat Back Pad
  15. Partially peal back the seat back trim from the seat back pad, remove rings C in the order of (8), (9), (10) shown in the figure, then remove the seat back trim. (Scheme 31): Removing Seat Back Trim

  1. Install the seat back trim to the front seat back pad, install the rings C in the order of (1), (2), (3) shown in the figure, then install the seat back trim. (Scheme 32): Installing Seat Back Trim
  2. Install the seat back trim and the seat back pad as a single unit from the seat frame by pushing them in the direction of the arrow (Scheme 33): Installing Seat Back Trim And Seat Back Pad
  3. Pass holder bracket A through slit A, holder hook B through slit B of the seat back pad. (Scheme 34): Passing Holder Bracket A CAUTION: Install it without twisting the sleeve. Get the holder bracket through between active frame and seat back frame.
  4. Push the part A shown in the figure to the rear. (Scheme 35): Pushing Front Seat Back Trim
  5. Assemble the holder bracket A to the seat back frame and install the nut shown in the figure. (Scheme 36): Assembling Holder Bracket A To Seat Back Frame With Torque Specification
  6. Install the pole guide in the direction of arrow shown in the figure. (Scheme 37): Installing Pole Guide
  7. Shut the fastener.
  8. Slide hook A in the order of (4), (5), (6) shown in the figure to install it to hook B (Scheme 38): Sliding Front Seat Hook A
  9. Install the band, while tighten the wiring harness. (Scheme 39): Identifying Side Air Bag Connector, Seat Warmer Connector, Side Air Bag Wiring Harness Band And Power Unit Connector
  10. Connect the negative battery cable. (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5]»(ref-520388-S24063200782013010300000).)   6. Detach hook A and B in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.
  7. Detach hook C by sliding it in the order of (1), (2), and (3) as shown in the figure.
  8. Remove the seat cushion trim and the seat cushion pad from the seat frame as a single unit. (Scheme 40): Removing Seat Cushion Trim And Seat Cushion Pad From Seat Frame
  9. Remove rings C in the order of (4), (5), (6) and (7) as shown in the figure, then remove the seat cushion trim from the seat cushion pad in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure. (Scheme 41): Removing Seat Cushion Trim From Seat Cushion Pad
  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.

FRONT SEAT SLIDE ADJUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Removal

WARNINGHandling a front seat (with built-in side air bag) improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings before handling a front seat (with built-in side air bag). (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS .)
CAUTIONAfter removing a front seat, do not operate the slider lever. If the slider lever is operated, the left and right slide positions will deviate, and the slide adjuster may be damaged after the front seat is installed. Verify that there are no malfunctions in the sliding mechanism after installing a front seat. When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean rag so as not to damage or soil the seat. When the passenger's seat is removed, perform the seat weight sensor inspection using the M-MDS after installing the passenger's seat. (See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR INSPECTION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) When the passenger's seat is replaced with a new one, perform the seat weight sensor calibration using the M-MDS.
