BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

CAUTIONWhen replacing the BCM, the configuration procedure must be performed before removing the BCM. Replacing the BCM without performing the configuration procedure will result in system malfunction.

  1. Perform the BCM configuration when replacing it. (See «BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION»(ref-520482-S42493813132013010300000).)
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5]»(ref-520388-S24063200782013010300000).) (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-520427-S28538867222013010300000).)
  3. Remove the following parts: Front scuff plate (LH) (See «FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-520454-S34787470772013010300000).) Front side trim (LH) (See «FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-520454-S10636860092013010300000).) Upper panel (See «UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-520454-S17814587652013010300000).) Selector lever knob (See «AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-520491-S31259650412013010300000).) Shift panel (See «SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-520454-S17124509942013010300000).) Side wall (See «SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-520454-S11769586082013010300000).)   4. Set the hood release lever out of the way. (See «HOOD LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-520433-S28071592822013010300000).)
  5. Remove the lower panel. (driver-side) (See «LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-520454-S41081192382013010300000).)
  6. Remove the nut shown in the figure. (Scheme 85): Identifying Bcm Nut With Torque Specifications
  7. Pry off the lock device of the clip while pressing the tab in the position shown in the figure. (Scheme 86): Prying Off Lock Device Of Clip
  8. Rotate the clip in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure. (Scheme 87): Rotating Clip
  9. Remove the clip by pulling it in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure. (Scheme 88): Removing Clip
  10. Disconnect the connector shown in the figure. (Scheme 89): Identifying BCM Connector
  11. While pressing the tab shown in the figure, pull the bracket in the direction of the arrow and remove it. (Scheme 90): Pressing Tab
  12. Remove the BCM.
  13. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  3.   7. Remove the nuts shown in the figure. (Scheme 91): Identifying BCM Nuts With Torque Specification
  8. Pry off the lock device of the clip while pressing the tab in the position shown in the figure. (Scheme 92): Prying Off Lock Device Of Clip
  9. Rotate the clip in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure. (Scheme 93): Rotating Clip
  10. Remove the clip by pulling it in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure. (Scheme 94): Removing Clip
  11. Disconnect the connector shown in the figure. (Scheme 95): Identifying BCM Connector
  12. While pressing the tab shown in the figure, pull the bracket in the direction of the arrow and remove it. (Scheme 96): Pressing Tab
  13. Remove the BCM.
  14. Install in the reverse order of removal.
