B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

WARNINGHandling the side air bag sensor improperly can accidentally deploy the side air bag module, which may seriously injure you. Read AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS before working around the B-pillar areas. (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS .)

Note. The side air bag sensor is located in the B-pillar.

  1. Remove the front scuff plate. (See «FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S30785211232007121800000) ).
  2. Remove the rear scuff plate. (See «REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S13641334712007121800000) ).
  3. Pull the area marked A, then remove one side of the B-pillar lower trim.
  4. Pull the B-pillar lower trim outward and remove it.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the following parts: Upper anchor of the front seat belt (See «FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274503-S40694109052007121800000) .) Front scuff plate (See «FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S30785211232007121800000) ). Rear scuff plate (See «REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S13641334712007121800000) ). B-pillar lower trim (See «B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S36482650312007121800000) ).
  2. Partially peel back the seaming welt.
  3. Pull the B-pillar upper trim outward and detach clips A and locator pin B from the body.
  4. Detach the tab from the body and remove the B-pillar trim.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the rear seat. (See «REAR SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274457-S14827575882007121800000) .)
  2. Remove the rear scuff plate. (See «REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S13641334712007121800000) ).
  3. Remove the tire house trim. (See «TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S07747302772007121800000) ).
  4. Partially peel back the seaming welt.
  5. Detach clips A and locator pin B, using a fastener remover.
  6. Detach tabs C, D and E from the body and remove the C-pillar trim.
  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the following parts: Rear seat (See «REAR SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274457-S14827575882007121800000) .) Rear scuff plate (See «REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S13641334712007121800000) ). Tire house trim (See «TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S07747302772007121800000) ). Trunk side upper trim (See «TRUNK SIDE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S19846250732007121800000) ).
  2. Partially peel back the seaming welt.
  3. Remove the fasteners.
  4. Detach clips A, B and locator pins C, using a fastener remover.
  5. Remove the C-pillar trim.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the following parts: A-pillartrim (See «A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S34078087152007121800000) ). Front scuff plate (See «FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S30785211232007121800000) ). Front side trim (See «FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S23405913072007121800000) ). Hood release lever (See «HOOD LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274461-S10727308952007121800000) .) Lower panel (See «LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S04523527642007121800000) ). Decoration panel (See «DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S00945702122007121800000) ). Dashboard center panel (See «DASHBOARD CENTER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S14066994972007121800000) ). Meter hood (See «METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274485-S19981994312007121800000) ). Instrument cluster (See «INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-274417-S07022914612007121800000) .)
  3. Remove the screws.
  4. Pull the dashboard garnish outward, and detach clips A.
  5. Remove the dashboard garnish.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
