Engine - Intake-Air System: Other Mazda 3 BK

Open circuit

  1. If there is no continuity, the circuit is open. Repair or replace the wiring harness. Throttle actuator terminal F and PCM terminal 2A Throttle actuator terminal E and PCM terminal 2B

Short circuit

  1. If there is continuity, the circuit is shorted. Repair or replace the wiring harness. Throttle actuator terminal F and power supply Throttle actuator terminal F and GND Throttle actuator terminal E and power supply Throttle actuator terminal E and GND

  1. Remove the variable intake-air solenoid valve. (See «INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF]»(ref-177563-S27802206012005060200000) .)
  2. Inspect airflow between the ports under the following conditions. If not as specified, replace the variable intake-air solenoid valve. If as specified, carry out the «Circuit Open/Short Inspection»(ref-177563-S03941786022005060200000) .

  1. Disconnect the PCM connector. (See «PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-177569-S38589701122005060200000) .)
  2. Inspect the following wiring harness for open or short (continuity check).
  1. If there is no continuity, the circuit is open. Repair or replace the wiring harness. Variable intake-air solenoid valve terminal A and PCM terminal 2AJ Variable intake-air solenoid valve terminal B and main relay terminal A
  1. If there is continuity, the circuit is shorted. Repair or replace the wiring harness. Variable intake-air solenoid valve terminal B and body GND Variable intake-air solenoid valve terminal A and power supply

  1. Remove the variable intake-air solenoid valve. (See «INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3]»(ref-177563-S01004479692005060200000) .)
  2. Inspect airflow between the ports under the following conditions. If not as specified, replace the variable intake-air solenoid valve. If as specified, carry out the «Circuit Open/Short Inspection»(ref-177563-S19424113032005060200000) .

  2. Inspect the following wiring harness for open or short (continuity check).

  2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the variable intake-air shutter valve actuator.
  3. Connect a vacuum pump to the variable intake-air shutter valve actuator.
  4. Apply vacuum and verify that the rod moves. If the rod dose not move, replace the intake manifold.

  2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the variable intake-air shutter valve actuator.
  3. Connect a vacuum pump to the variable intake-air shutter valve actuator.
  4. Apply vacuum and verify that the rod moves. If the rod dose not move, replace the intake manifold.

  2. Inspect airflow between the ports under the following conditions. If not as specified, replace the variable tumble solenoid valve. If as specified, carry out the «Circuit Open/Short Inspection»(ref-177563-S07176362492005060200000) .

  2. Inspect airflow between the ports under the following conditions. If not as specified, replace the variable tumble solenoid valve. If as specified, carry out the "Circuit Open/Short Inspection".

  3. Connect a vacuum pump to the variable tumble shutter valve actuator.
  4. Apply vacuum and verify that the rod moves. If the rod dose not move, replace the intake manifold.

  3. Connect a vacuum pump to the variable tumble shutter valve actuator.
  4. Apply vacuum and verify that the rod moves. If the rod dose not move, replace the intake manifold.
