1. Remove the battery cover.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4. Disconnect the audio control switch connector.
5. Inspect for resistance and continuity between cruise control switch terminals 5-6 using a tester. If not as specified, replace the cruise control switch. (See AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

Scheme 3

1. Disconnect the PCM connector.
2. Disconnect the cruise control switch connector. (See AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Inspect the following wiring harnesses for an open or short circuit. (Continuity inspection)
