REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Removal
- Remove door trim panel and watershield. See «DOOR TRIM PANEL»(ref-140361-S12806070922002110600000).
- Lower glass until front retaining rivets are opposite access hole.
- Using a drift punch, remove the center pin of each rivet attaching the glass to the glass bracket. see scheme 3 Using a 1/4-inch drill, drill out the remainder of the rivet.
- Remove the door glass stabilizer.
- Remove glass.
Installation
- Install the spacer and retainer assemblies into the glass retention holes. Ensure that each assembly is securely fastened.
- Insert the glass into the door between the door belt weatherstrips.
- Position regulator bracket on glass. Install two rivets.
- Position the door glass stabilizer to the glass and tighten the screw to 60-120 INCH lbs. (7-14 N.m).
- Install the door trim panel and watershield. Cycle the glass to ensure smooth operation.
The door glass run assembly is force fit into the door frame and can be pulled out of the door frame and front run retainer.
- Install the moulded sail corner of the run assembly into position where the A-pillar meets the door belt. (Scheme 2)
- Insert the B-pillar moulded corner into the door frame at the top on the door.
- Insert the run assembly along the top of the door frame.
- Insert the remainder of the B-pillar run into the door frame at the rear of the door.
- Install the remainder of the front portion of the run assembly into the front run assembly.
Scheme 2
- Remove door trim panel and watershield. See «DOOR TRIM PANEL»(ref-140361-S12806070922002110600000).
- With the glass in the full-up position, remove the two retaining screws and washers. see scheme 3
- Reaching through the access hole in the inner door panel, pull the run retainer straight down from door belt and remove.
- To install, reverse removal procedure.
- Remove the retaining screws from the armrest assembly.
- Remove screws retaining switch(es) to housing and remove cover assembly.
- Remove the door trim panel retaining screws. (Scheme 3)
- Using the Trim Pad Removing Tool from Rotunda Moulding/Trim Kit (107-00401) or equivalent, pry the trim panel retaining clips from the door inner panel. Do not use trim panel to pry clips from door inner panel. Replace any bent, damaged or missing push pins.
- Disconnect all wiring, if so equipped, and remove the trim panel.
Scheme 3
- If the trim panel and/or the armrest is to be replaced, transfer the pull handle pop-rivets and/or retaining screws and retaining clips to the new assembly. Be sure arrow for door night latch faces to the rear. If the watershield has been removed, be sure to position it correctly in place before installing the trim panel. Ensure armrest retaining clips are properly positioned on the door trim panel. If dislodged, broken or missing, they must be reinstalled or replaced before installing the watershield.
- Position the trim panel to the door inner panel and connect the wiring, if so equipped.
- Push the trim panel and retaining clips into the inner door panel holes and install the retaining screws. Install screws retaining switch(es) to housing.
- Position the armrest to the trim panel, and install the retaining screws.
- Raise the window to the full-up position, if possible. If the glass cannot be raised and is in a partially down position, it must be supported so that it will not fall into the door well during motor removal.
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove door trim panel and watershield. See «DOOR TRIM PANEL»(ref-140361-S12806070922002110600000) .
- Disconnect window motor connector.
- Position the motor wiring harness out of the way. Using a 19mm (3/4 inch) hole saw with a 1/4-inch pilot, drill three holes at the existing drill dimples located on the door inner panel adjacent to the motor.
- Remove the three window motor mounting screws and disengage the motor and drive assembly from the regulator quadrant gear.
- Install the motor and drive assembly. Tighten the mounting screws to 50-84 INCH lbs. (5.6-9.6 N.m).
- Connect the motor wiring connector. Check window for proper operation.
- Install the door trim panel and watershield. See «DOOR TRIM PANEL»(ref-140361-S12806070922002110600000) .
- Connect battery ground cable.
- Check the drain holes at the bottom of the doors to ensure that each is open to prevent water buildup over the motor.
- Remove console front finish panel.
- Remove four screws that attach switch mounting plate to base of console. Pull mounting plate up to expose power window switches. (Scheme 4)
- Remove two screws that attach connector to mounting plate. Remove switch.
- To install, reverse removal procedure.
Scheme 4
If replacement of the switch connector or a wire leading to the connector is necessary, the wire(s) can be removed from the connector without disassembling the connector. To remove a wire from the connector, insert a needle-like tool in the edge of the terminal hole, and bend the terminal in. Pull the wire and terminal from the connector. (Scheme 5) To install the terminal in the connector, open the terminal and insert it into the wire hole.
Scheme 5
- Remove door trim panel and watershield. See «DOOR TRIM PANEL»(ref-140361-S12806070922002110600000).
- Support the glass in the full-up position.
- Remove the glass-to-bracket retaining rivets. See «DOOR GLASS»(ref-140361-S27642669532002052100000).
- Remove upper and lower retaining hardware from glass run.
- Remove the regulator arm slide from the glass bracket C-channel and remove the run and bracket assembly from the door. see scheme 3
- Install the glass bracket assembly onto the glass run and position them in the door.
- Loosely install the upper and lower run retaining hardware.
- Insert regulator slide into glass bracket C-channel.
- Remove the glass prop and position the glass bracket to the glass. Install the retaining rivets. See «DOOR GLASS»(ref-140361-S27642669532002052100000) .
- Adjust glass. See «DOOR GLASS»(ref-140361-S03999370182002052100000) under ADJUSTMENTS.
- Cycle the glass to check for proper operation.
- Install the door trim panel and watershield. See «DOOR TRIM PANEL»(ref-140361-S12806070922002110600000) .
- Remove door trim panel and watershield. See «DOOR TRIM PANEL»(ref-140361-S12806070922002110600000).
- Prop the glass in the full-up position.
- Disconnect the electric motor wiring.
- Remove the four rivets attaching the regulator to the inner door panel. Remove the center pin from each rivet with a drift punch. Using a 1/4-inch drill, drill out the remainder of the rivet, using care not to enlarge the sheet metal retaining holes. see scheme 3
- Remove the upper screw and washer and lower nut and washer attaching the run and bracket assembly to the inner door panel. Slide the run tube up between the door belt and glass. Protect the glass with a soft cloth between the run tube while removing the regulator.
- Remove the regulator slide from the glass bracket. Remove the regulator from the door access hole.
- With glass in the full-up position, install window regulator through the access hole in the door. Insert the slide into the glass bracket C-channel.
- Slide the glass run tube assembly down into position in the door. Loosely install the upper screw and washer and lower nut and washer.
- Position the regulator base plate to the inner door panel and install four rivets.
- Adjust door glass. See «DOOR GLASS»(ref-140361-S03999370182002052100000) under ADJUSTMENTS.
- Connect the electric motor wiring.
- Cycle the door glass to ensure proper operation.
- Install the door trim panel and watershield.
