TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

The acceleration control consists of

1. a fixed accelerator pedal.
2. an adjustable accelerator pedal.

The engine management system electronically operates the throttle of the engine in response to throttle pedal movements initiated by the driver. In the event of a system failure, the engine management system provides a "limp home" mode which allows the vehicle to be driven with limited performance.

Scheme 1

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(/lincoln/mark-lt/i-2005-2009/remont/body-electrical/#battery-mounting-and-cables-f-150-mark-lt) article.
2. Disconnect the accelerator pedal electrical connector.
3. Remove the 3 accelerator pedal assembly bolts and the accelerator pedal assembly. To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Scheme 2

Note. The brake pedal and the accelerator pedal must be in the same position when installing a new cable or a new accelerator pedal. The pedals must be all the way forward or all the way rearward.

2. Disconnect the accelerator pedal electrical connector.
3. Disconnect the accelerator pedal assembly drive cable.
4. Remove the 3 accelerator pedal assembly bolts and the accelerator pedal assembly. To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
