SEAT CALIBRATION
Calibrations procedure automatically powers driver's power seat through its full range of motion and records full stop positions, by monitoring motor position sensors. Once full stop positions, or range of seat have been recorded, Driver's Seat Module (DSM) will only operate within calibrated range. Any input attempting to drive seat beyond calibrated range will be ignored. Calibration is used for all seat control functions including manual switch control and memory recall positioning. During seat calibration, DSM may identify a function that is inoperative. DSM identifies a concern that has a related Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC), DSM will set related DTC at end of procedure.
Calibration procedure powers set track adjustments to end of their travel, which is determined by DSM seeing a change of state in motor position sensors. If a concern with seat track or motor position sensor that limits travel, DSM will interpret the stopping point as end of travel and store position. DSM is not able to determine if set has moved to its full travel position. It is only capable of monitoring and storing amount of travel seen by position sensor changing states.
