INSPECTION & VERIFICATION
Verify customer concern by operating windows to duplicate condition. Visually inspect components. If inspection reveals an obvious concern which can be easily serviced, correct malfunction before continuing inspection and verification.
COMPONENT TESTING
Note. In wiring diagram, single switch connectors are labeled as C600, C601, C709, C711, C809, and C811. In single switch test, switch terminals are referred to as connector C1 and C2. Identification has been changed for test references only.
SELF-DIAGNOSTICS
The power windows utilize a self-diagnostic system which may store a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) if a problem exists in the system. DTCs may be retrieved using NGS tester and Data Link Connector (DLC) for diagnosis of system. Before performing any testing, a preliminary procedure should be performed. See PRELIMINARY PROCEDURE .
TEST A: NO COMMUNICATION WITH DDM
- Check For PID Data Access - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PIDs SFWD_SW, SREAR_SW, SFNT_SW and SRCL_SW while activating power seat switch. If NGS tester indicates unable to perform test function, DDM not responding, check ignition status/verify cable requirements, or check cable connections, go to next step. If NGS tester does not indicate unable to perform test function, DDM not responding, check ignition status/verify cable requirements, or check cable connections, go to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article to diagnose network concern.
- Check Fuse No. 39 - Ensure transmission is in Park. Turn ignition off. Check fuse No. 39 (10-amp) in instrument panel fuse block. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is not okay, go to step 6).
- Check Voltage To Fuse Box - Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and input side (left terminal) of fuse No. 39 (10-amp). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to step 22).
- Check Black/White Wire For Open - Install fuse No. 39. Disconnect DDM 14-pin connector C524 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and DDM connector C524 terminal No. 6 (Black/White wire). (Scheme 1) If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Black/White wire between instrument panel fuse block and DDM. Using NGS tester, repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST.
- Check Black/Light Blue Wire For Open - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and DDM connector C524 terminal No. 14 (Black/Light Blue wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black/Light Blue wire and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article to diagnose network concern.
- Check System For Short - Replace fuse No. 39. DO NOT operate any switches. If fuse blows, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step 12).
- Check Black/White Wire For Short To Ground - Remove fuse No. 39 (10-amp) from instrument panel fuse block. Disconnect DDM 14-pin connector C524, Driver Seat Module (DSM) connector C342 (located under driver seat), driver door lock switch connector C505, passenger door lock switch connector C602 and outside rear view mirror control switch connector C550. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and DDM connector C524 terminal No. 6 (Black/White wire). If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Black/White wire and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check DSM For Short - Reconnect DSM connector C342. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and DDM connector C524 terminal No. 6 (Black/White wire). If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, replace driver seat module and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check DDM For Short - Reconnect DDM connector C524. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and driver door lock switch connector C505 terminal No. 6 (Black/White wire). If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, replace driver door module and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Passenger Door Lock Switch For Short - Reconnect passenger door lock switch connector C602. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and driver door lock switch connector C505 terminal No. 6 (Black/White wire). If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, replace passenger door lock switch and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Outside Rear View Mirror Control - Reconnect outside rear view mirror control switch connector C550. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and driver door lock switch connector C505 terminal No. 6 (Black/White wire). If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace driver door lock switch and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, replace outside rear view mirror control switch and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Activate Driver & Passenger Door Lock Switches - Lock and unlock doors using all door lock switches. If fuse No. 39 (10-amp) blows, go to next step. If fuse No. 39 (10-amp) is okay, go to step 15).
- Check Driver & Passenger Door Lock Switches - Remove driver and passenger door lock switches. Test both door lock switches. See POWER DOOR LOCKS & TRUNK RELEASE article. If both door lock switches are okay, go to next step. If either door lock switch is defective, replace appropriate door lock switch and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Pink/Yellow & Pink/Light Green Wires For Short To Ground - Disconnect DDM 20-pin connector C523 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and driver door lock switch connector C505 terminal No. 1 (Pink/Yellow wire). Also, check resistance between ground and driver door lock switch connector C505 terminal No. 5 (Pink/Light Green wire). If either or both resistance readings are 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in appropriate wire(s). If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace driver door module and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Activate Keyless Entry Pad - Press each number on keyless entry pad one at a time. If fuse No. 39 (10-amp) opens, go to next step. If fuse No. 39 (10-amp) does not open, go to step 17).
- Check Circuits For Short To Ground - Disconnect DDM 20-pin connector C523 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Disconnect keyless entry keypad connector C525. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and appropriate terminals at remote keyless entry keypad connector C525. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If all resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace driver door module and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester. If any resistance readings are 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in appropriate wire and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester. REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION Terminal No. Wire Color 1 Red 2 Yellow 3 Yellow/Black 4 Light Green/Red 5 Light Blue/Yellow 9 Light Blue
- Activate Outside Rear View Mirror Control Switch - Activate mirrors in all directions. If fuse No. 39 (10-amp) opens, go to next step. If fuse No. 39 (10-amp) does not open, go to step 20).
- Check Outside Rear View Mirror Control Switch - Remove outside rear view mirror control switch. Check outside rear view mirror control switch. See POWER MEMORY MIRRORS article. If outside rear view mirror control switch is okay, go to next step. If outside rear view mirror control switch is defective, replace outside rear view mirror control switch and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Circuits For Short To Ground - Disconnect DDM 16-pin connector C506 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Disconnect outside rear view mirror control switch connector C550. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and appropriate terminals at outside rear view mirror control switch connector C550. See MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If all resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace driver door module and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester. If any resistance reading are 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in appropriate wire(s) and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS TEST using NGS tester. MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION Terminal No. Wire Color 3 Dark Blue/Orange 4 Red/Orange 6 Yellow/Black 7 Purple/Orange 8 Dark Green/Orange
- Activate Power Seat Control Switch - Activate driver seat control switch in all directions. If fuse No. 39 (10-amp) opens, go to next step. If fuse No. 39 (10-amp) does not open, system is operating properly at this time. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Circuits For Short To Ground - Disconnect DDM 16-pin connector C506 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Disconnect driver seat control switch connector C520. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and appropriate terminals at driver seat control switch connector C520. See DRIVER SEAT CONTROL SWITCH TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If all resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace driver door module and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester. If any resistance readings are 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in appropriate wire(s) and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester. DRIVER SEAT CONTROL SWITCH TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION Terminal No. Wire Color 2 Red/White 3 Red/Light Green 4 Red/Light Blue 5 Gray 7 Yellow/White 8 Yellow/Light Green 9 Yellow/Light Blue 10 Gray/Black
- Check Fuse - Turn ignition off. Remove maxi-fuse No. 1 (30-amp) from engine compartment power distribution box. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is open, go to step 24).
- Check For Power To Power Distribution Box - Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and input side of maxi-fuse No. 1 (30-amp) in engine compartment power distribution box. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open in Red wire between power distribution box and instrument panel fuse block. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace power distribution box and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Red Wire For Short To Ground - Ensure maxi-fuse No. 1 (30-amp) is still removed. Disconnect Driver Seat Module (DSM) 2-pin connector C362. Disconnect driver heated seat module 14-pin connector C352. Disconnect driver lumbar switch 5-pin connector C348. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and DSM 2-pin connector C362 terminal No. 1 (Red wire). If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Red wire and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check DSM For Short To Ground - Reconnect DSM 2-pin connector C362. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and output terminal of maxi-fuse No. 1 (30-amp) in engine compartment power distribution box. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, replace driver seat module and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Identify System Short - Replace maxi-fuse No. 1 (30-amp) in engine compartment power distribution box. Reconnect driver lumbar switch 5-pin connector C348. Operate driver lumbar switch in both directions. If maxi-fuse No. 1 (30-amp) opens, go to next step. If maxi-fuse No. 1 (30-amp) does not open, go to step 30).
- Check Power Lumbar Switch For Short To Ground - Remove maxi-fuse No. 1 (30-amp) from engine compartment power distribution box. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and output cavity of maxi-fuse No. 1 (30-amp) in engine compartment power distribution box. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, replace driver lumbar switch and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Pink & Brown Wires For Short To Ground - Disconnect driver lumbar switch 5-pin connector C348. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and driver lumbar switch connector C348 terminal No. 4 (Pink wire). Also, check resistance between ground and driver lumbar switch connector C348 terminal No. 2 (Brown wire). If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If either reading is 10 k/ohms or less, replace driver lumbar switch and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Power Lumbar Motor For Short To Ground - Disconnect driver lumbar motor 4-pin connector C315. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and driver lumbar switch connector C348 terminal No. 4 (Pink wire). Also, check resistance between ground and driver lumbar switch connector C348 terminal No. 2 (Brown wire). If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace power lumbar motor and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester. If either reading is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in appropriate wire(s) and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Circuits For Short To Ground - Disconnect driver heated seat module 14-pin connector C352. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and appropriate terminals at driver heated seat module 14-pin connector C352. See HEATED SEAT MODULE CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If all resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace driver heated seat module and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester. If any resistance readings are 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in appropriate wire(s) and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.

HEATED SEAT MODULE CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION

TEST B: NO COMMUNICATION WITH LCM
- Check For PID Data Access - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, monitor LCM PID IGN_LC. If NGS tester does not indicate unable to perform test function, LCM not responding, check ignition status/verify cable requirements, or check cable connections, go to next step. If NGS tester indicates unable to perform test function, LCM not responding, check ignition status/verify cable requirements, or check cable connections, go to step 16).
- Verify LCM PID IGN_LC Input - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, monitor LCM PID IGN_LC while rotating ignition switch through ACCY, OFF and RUN positions. If NGS tester indicates ACCY while in ACCY position and OFF in all other positions, replace lighting control module and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester. If NGS tester indicates ACCY while in RUN position, go to next step. If NGS tester indicates OFF at all times, go to step 7).
- Check Fuse Output For Voltage - Remove instrument panel fuse block fuse No. 5 (10-amp). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and fuse No. 5 (10-amp) output cavity (right terminal). If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open in Red/Yellow wire and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Fuse - Check condition of instrument panel fuse No. 5 (10-amp). Remove instrument panel fuse block fuse No. 5. If fuse is open, go to next step. If fuse is okay, repair open in Brown/Pink wire between ignition switch and instrument panel fuse block. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Red/Yellow Wire For Short To Ground - Turn ignition off. Disconnect LCM 22-pin connector C206 (located behind left side of instrument panel). Disconnect autolamp light sensor amplifier 5-pin connector C243 (located behind top left side of instrument panel). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and LCM 22-pin connector C206 terminal No. 17 (Red/Yellow wire). (Scheme 2) If resistance is less than 20 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 20 ohms or more, repair short to ground in Red/Yellow wire. Replace fuse No. 5 (10-amp) and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Lighting Control Module (LCM) - Reconnect LCM 22-pin connector C206. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and fuse No. 5 (10-amp) output cavity (right terminal). If resistance is less than 20 ohms, go to AUTOLAMP SYSTEMS article to continue diagnosis. If resistance is 20 ohms or more, replace lighting control module. Replace fuse No. 5 (10-amp) and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Fuse Output For Voltage - Remove instrument panel fuse block fuse No. 4 (10-amp). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and fuse No. 4 (10-amp) output cavity (right terminal). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to step 9).
- Check Black/Pink Wire For Voltage - Turn ignition off. Disconnect LCM 12-pin connector C208 (located behind left side of instrument panel). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and LCM 12-pin connector C208 terminal No. 2 (Black/Pink wire). (Scheme 3) If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace lighting control module and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Black/Pink wire and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Fuse - Check condition of instrument panel fuse No. 4 (10-amp). Remove instrument panel fuse block fuse No. 4. If fuse is open, go to next step. If fuse is okay, repair open in Black/Light Green wire between ignition switch and instrument panel fuse block. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Driver Door Lock Switch - Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver door lock switch connector C505. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and LCM 12-pin connector C208 terminal No. 2 (Black/Pink wire). (Scheme 3) If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace driver door lock switch. Replace fuse No. 4 (10-amp) and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Passenger Door Lock Switch - Turn ignition off. Disconnect passenger door lock switch connector C602. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and LCM 12-pin connector C208 terminal No. 2 (Black/Pink wire). (Scheme 3) If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace passenger door lock switch. Replace fuse No. 4 (10-amp) and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Passenger Window Switch - Disconnect passenger window switch connector C600. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and LCM 12-pin connector C208 terminal No. 2 (Black/Pink wire). (Scheme 3) If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace passenger window switch. Replace fuse No. 4 (10-amp) and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Left Rear Window Switch - Disconnect left rear window switch connector C711. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and LCM 12-pin connector C208 terminal No. 2 (Black/Pink wire). (Scheme 3) If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace left rear window switch. Replace fuse No. 4 (10-amp) and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Right Rear Window Switch - Disconnect right rear window switch connector C809. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and LCM 12-pin connector C208 terminal No. 2 (Black/Pink wire). (Scheme 3) If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace right rear window switch. Replace fuse No. 4 (10-amp) and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Black/Pink Wire For Short To Ground - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and LCM 12-pin connector C208 terminal No. 2 (Black/Pink wire). (Scheme 3) If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Black/Pink wire and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace lighting control module and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Black Wires For Open - Disconnect LCM 22-pin connector C206, 13-pin connector C207, and 13-pin connector C211 (located behind left side of instrument panel). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and LCM 22-pin connector C206 terminal No. 13 (Black wire). (Scheme 2) Check resistance between ground and LCM 13-pin connector C207 terminal No. 1 (Black wire). (Scheme 4) Check resistance between ground and LCM 13-pin connector C211 terminal No. 9 (Black wire). (Scheme 5) If all resistance readings are less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If any resistance reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in appropriate Black wire(s) and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.
- Check Black/Light Blue Wire For Open - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and LCM 13-pin connector C207 terminal No. 15 (Black/Light Blue wire). (Scheme 4) If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article to diagnose network concern. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black/Light Blue wire and repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST using NGS tester.

TEST C: ALL WINDOWS ARE INOPERATIVE
- Check For An Active Switch - Ensure all window switches are not pressed. Using NGS tester, clear Driver Door Module (DDM) DTCs and perform DDM Self-Test. If DTC B1549 is not retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B1549 is retrieved, go to step 3).
- Check For A Stuck Switch - Using NGS tester, select and monitor DDM PIDs, RRPW_SW, LRPW_SW, P_PW_SW, and D_PW_SW. Press and release each driver door window control switch several times. If each PID does not indicate that the button releases within one second from when switch is released, go to next step. If each PID indicates that the button releases within one second from when switch is released, check for a sticking switch. Continuous fault will set if any window switch is held for more than 2 minutes.
- Check Driver Door Module (DDM) - Using NGS tester, select and monitor DDM PIDs, RRPW_SW, LRPW_SW, P_PW_SW, and D_PW_SW. Remove driver door module from lower front corner of driver door (without disconnecting any connectors). If the PID still indicates a stuck window control switch, replace driver door module and retest system operation. If the PID does not indicate a stuck window control switch anymore, replace driver door window control switch bezel and retest system operation.
TEST D: LEFT FRONT WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE
- Check Switch Input - Using NGS tester, select and monitor DDM PID D_PW_SW. Press and release driver door window control switch in the UP and DOWN position several times. If PID D_PW_SW values agree with the switch position, go to next step. If PID D_PW_SW values do not agree with the switch position, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
- Check Yellow/Light Green Wire For Open - Turn ignition off. Disconnect DDM 4-pin connector C522 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and DDM 4-pin C522 connector terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Light Green wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Yellow/Light Green wire and retest system operation.
- Check Black Wire For Open - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and DDM 4-pin C522 connector terminal No. 4 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire and retest system operation.
- Check Left Front Window Output To Motor - Reconnect DDM 4-pin connector C522. Disconnect left front window motor connector C514. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and left front window motor connector C514 (harness side) Red/Yellow wire while pressing left front window control switch to UP position. Check voltage between ground and left front window motor connector C514 (harness side) Pink/Yellow wire while pressing left front window control switch to DOWN position. If voltage does not cycle from zero volts to battery voltage when switches are pressed, go to next step. If voltage cycles from zero volts to battery voltage when switches are pressed, go to step 6).
- Check Pink/Yellow & Red/Yellow Wires For Open - Turn ignition off. Disconnect DDM 4-pin connector C522 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance in Pink/Yellow wire between DDM 4-pin C522 connector terminal No. 1 and left front window motor connector C514. Check resistance in Red/Yellow wire between DDM 4-pin C522 connector terminal No. 2 and left front window motor connector C514. If either resistance reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Pink/Yellow or Red/Yellow wire(s) and retest system operation. If both resistance readings are less than 5 ohms, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
- Check Pink/Yellow & Red/Yellow Wires For Short To Ground - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and left front window motor connector C514 Pink/Yellow wire terminal. Check resistance between ground and left front window motor connector C514 Red/Yellow wire terminal. If either resistance reading is 10 k/ohms or less, replace left front window motor and retest system operation. If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
TEST E: LEFT REAR WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE
- Check Switch Input - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, select and monitor DDM PID LRPW_SW. Press and release driver door window control switch left rear window switch in the UP and DOWN position several times. If PID LRPW_SW values agree with the switch position, go to next step. If PID LRPW_SW values do not agree with the switch position, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
- Operate Left Rear Window From Driver Door Switch - Attempt to operate left rear window from driver door window control switch. If left rear window does not operate properly, go to next step. If left rear window operates properly, go to step 9).
- Check Left Rear Window Output From Driver Door Module (DDM) - Turn ignition off. Disconnect left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711 Yellow/Light Blue wire terminal while pressing left front window control switch left rear window to UP position. Check voltage between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711 Gray/Orange wire terminal while pressing left front window control switch left rear window to DOWN position. If voltage cycles from zero volts to battery voltage when switches are pressed, go to next step. If voltage does not cycle from zero volts to battery voltage when switches are pressed, go to step 7).
- Check Yellow/Light Green Wire For Voltage - Disconnect left rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C709. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C709 Yellow/Light Green wire terminal. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Yellow/Light Green wire and retest system operation.
- Check Black Wire For Open - Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C709 Black wire terminal. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire and retest system operation.
- Check Left Rear Window Control Switch - Check left rear window control switch. See «SINGLE SWITCHES»(ref-29357-S28032541282001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTS. If left rear window control switch is okay, go to step 8). If left rear window control switch is not okay, replace switch and retest system operation.
- Check Yellow/Light Blue & Gray/Orange Wires For Open - Disconnect DDM 20-pin connector C523 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance in Yellow/Light Blue wire between DDM 20-pin C523 connector terminal No. 1 and left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711. (Scheme 6) Check resistance in Gray/Orange wire between DDM 20-pin C523 connector terminal No. 2 and left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711. If either resistance reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/Light Blue and/or Gray/Orange wire and retest system operation. If both resistance readings are less than 5 ohms, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
- Check Yellow/Black & Yellow/Light Blue Wires For Open - Disconnect left rear window motor connector C710. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance in Yellow/Black wire between left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711 and left rear window motor connector C710. Check resistance in Yellow/Light Blue wire between left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711 and left rear window motor connector C710. If either resistance reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/Black and/or Yellow/Light Blue wire and retest system operation. If both resistance readings are less than 5 ohms, replace left rear window motor and retest system operation.
- Check Red/Light Blue Wire For Voltage - Disconnect left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711 Red/Light Blue wire terminal. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace left rear window control switch and retest system operation. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Red/Light Blue wire and retest system operation.

TEST F: RIGHT FRONT WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE
- Check Switch Input - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, select and monitor DDM PID P_PW_SW. Press and release driver door window control switch right front window switch in the UP and DOWN position several times. If PID P_PW_SW values agree with the switch position, go to next step. If PID P_PW_SW values do not agree with the switch position, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
- Operate Right Front Window From Driver Door Switch - Attempt to operate right front window from driver door window control switch. If right front window does not operate properly, go to next step. If right front window operates properly, go to step 9).
- Check Right Front Window Output From Driver Door Module (DDM) - Turn ignition off. Disconnect right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600 Tan/Light Blue wire terminal while pressing left front window control switch right front window to UP position. Check voltage between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600 White/Yellow wire terminal while pressing left front window control switch right front window to DOWN position. If voltage cycles from zero volts to battery voltage when switches are pressed, go to next step. If voltage does not cycle from zero volts to battery voltage when switches are pressed, go to step 7).
- Check Pink Wire For Voltage - Disconnect right front window control switch 4-pin square connector C601. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin square connector C601 Pink wire terminal. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to step 10).
- Check Black Wire For Open - Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin square connector C601 Black wire terminal. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire and retest system operation.
- Check Right Front Window Control Switch - Check right front window control switch. See «SINGLE SWITCHES»(ref-29357-S28032541282001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTS. If right front window control switch is okay, go to step 8). If right front window control switch is not okay, replace switch and retest system operation.
- Check White/Yellow & Tan/Light Blue Wires For Open - Disconnect DDM 20-pin connector C523 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance in White/Yellow wire between DDM 20-pin C523 connector terminal No. 6 and right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600. (Scheme 6) Check resistance in Tan/Light Blue wire between DDM 20-pin C523 connector terminal No. 5 and right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600. If either resistance reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in White/Yellow and/or Tan/Light Blue wire and retest system operation. If both resistance readings are less than 5 ohms, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
- Check Yellow & White/Black Wires For Open - Disconnect right front window motor connector C614. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance in Yellow wire between right front window control switch 4-pin square connector C601 and right front window motor connector C614. Check resistance in White/Black wire between right front window control switch 4-pin square connector C601 and right front window motor connector C614. If either resistance reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow and/or White/Black wire and retest system operation. If both resistance readings are less than 5 ohms, replace right front window motor and retest system operation.
- Check Red/Light Blue Wire For Voltage - Disconnect right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600 Red/Light Blue wire terminal. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace right front window control switch and retest system operation. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Red/Light Blue wire and retest system operation.
- Check Fuse - Ensure transmission is in Park. Turn ignition off. Remove and check condition of engine compartment power distribution box mini-fuse No. 8 (30-amp). If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is open, replace fuse and retest system operation. If new fuse opens again, go to step 12).
- Check For Voltage To Fuse - Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and engine compartment power distribution box mini-fuse No. 8 (30-amp) input cavity. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open in Pink wire and retest system operation. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace engine compartment power distribution box and retest system operation.
- Check Pink Wire For Short To Ground - Disconnect right front window control switch 4-pin square connector C601. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and engine compartment power distribution box mini-fuse No. 8 (30-amp) output cavity. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Pink wire and retest system operation.
- Check Right Front Window Control Switch - Check right front window control switch. See «SINGLE SWITCHES»(ref-29357-S28032541282001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTS. If right front window control switch is okay, go to next step. If right front window control switch is not okay, replace switch and retest system operation.
- Check White/Yellow & Tan/Light Blue Wire For Voltage - Disconnect DDM 20-pin connector C523 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600 White/Yellow wire terminal. Check voltage between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600 Tan/Light Blue wire terminal. If either voltage reading is more than 10 volts, repair White/Yellow and/or Tan/Light Blue wire for short to voltage and retest system operation. If both voltage readings are 10 volts or less, go to next step.
- Check White/Yellow & Tan/Light Blue Wire For Short To Ground - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600 White/Yellow wire terminal. Check resistance between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600 Tan/Light Blue wire terminal. If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If either resistance reading is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in White/Yellow and/or Tan/Light Blue wire and retest system operation.
- Check White/Black & Yellow Wire For Short To Voltage - Reconnect DDM 20-pin connector C523. Disconnect right front window control switch 4-pin square connector C601. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin square connector C601 White/Black wire terminal. Check voltage between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin square connector C601 Yellow wire terminal. If both voltage readings are 10 volts or less, go to next step. If either voltage reading is more than 10 volts, repair short to voltage in White/Black and/or Yellow wire and retest system operation.
- Check White/Black & Yellow Wire For Short To Ground - Disconnect right front window motor connector C614. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin square connector C601 White/Black wire terminal. Check resistance between ground and right front window control switch 4-pin square connector C601 Yellow wire terminal. If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace right front window motor and retest system operation. If either resistance reading is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in White/Black and/or Yellow wire and retest system operation.
TEST G: RIGHT REAR WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE
- Check Switch Input - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, select and monitor DDM PID RRPW_SW. Press and release driver door window control switch right rear window switch in the UP and DOWN position several times. If PID RRPW_SW values agree with the switch position, go to next step. If PID RRPW_SW values do not agree with the switch position, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
- Operate Right Rear Window From Driver Door Switch - Attempt to operate right rear window from driver door window control switch. If right rear window does not operate properly, go to next step. If right rear window operates properly, go to step 9).
- Check Right Rear Window Output From Driver Door Module (DDM) - Turn ignition off. Disconnect right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809 Yellow/Black wire terminal while pressing left front window control switch right rear window to UP position. Check voltage between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809 Red/Black wire terminal while pressing left front window control switch right rear window to DOWN position. If voltage cycles from zero volts to battery voltage when switches are pressed, go to next step. If voltage does not cycle from zero volts to battery voltage when switches are pressed, go to step 7).
- Check Gray/Light Blue Wire For Voltage - Disconnect right rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C811. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C811 Gray/Light Blue wire terminal. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to step 10).
- Check Black Wire For Open - Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C811 Black wire terminal. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire and retest system operation.
- Check Right Rear Window Control Switch - Check right rear window control switch. See «SINGLE SWITCHES»(ref-29357-S28032541282001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTS. If right rear window control switch is okay, go to step 8). If right rear window control switch is not okay, replace switch and retest system operation.
- Check Yellow/Black & Red/Black Wires For Open - Disconnect DDM 20-pin connector C523 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance in Yellow/Black wire between DDM 20-pin C523 connector terminal No. 8 and right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809. (Scheme 6) Check resistance in Red/Black wire between DDM 20-pin C523 connector terminal No. 7 and right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809. If either resistance reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/Black and/or Red/Black wire and retest system operation. If both resistance readings are less than 5 ohms, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
- Check Brown/Yellow & Brown Wires For Open - Disconnect right rear window motor connector C810. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance in Brown/Yellow wire between right rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C811 and right rear window motor connector C810. Check resistance in Brown wire between right rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C811 and right rear window motor connector C810. If either resistance reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Brown/Yellow and/or Brown wire and retest system operation. If both resistance readings are less than 5 ohms, replace right rear window motor and retest system operation.
- Check Red/Light Blue Wire For Voltage - Disconnect right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809 Red/Light Blue wire terminal. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace right rear window control switch and retest system operation. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Red/Light Blue wire and retest system operation.
- Check Fuse - Ensure transmission is in Park. Turn ignition off. Remove and check condition of engine compartment power distribution box mini-fuse No. 3 (30-amp). If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is open, replace fuse and retest system operation. If new fuse opens again, go to step 12).
- Check For Voltage To Fuse - Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and engine compartment power distribution box mini-fuse No. 3 (30-amp) input cavity. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open in Gray/Light Blue wire and retest system operation. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace engine compartment power distribution box and retest system operation.
- Check Gray/Light Blue Wire For Short To Ground - Disconnect right rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C811. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and engine compartment power distribution box mini-fuse No. 3 (30-amp) output cavity. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Gray/Light Blue wire and retest system operation.
- Check Right Rear Window Control Switch - Check right rear window control switch. See «SINGLE SWITCHES»(ref-29357-S28032541282001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTS. If right rear window control switch is okay, go to next step. If right rear window control switch is not okay, replace switch and retest system operation.
- Check Yellow/Black & Red/Black Wire For Voltage - Disconnect DDM 20-pin connector C523 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809 Yellow/Black wire terminal. Check voltage between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809 Red/Black wire terminal. If either voltage reading is more than 10 volts, repair Yellow/Black and/or Red/Black wire for short to voltage and retest system operation. If both voltage readings are 10 volts or less, go to next step.
- Check Yellow/Black & Red/Black Wire For Short To Ground - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809 Yellow/Black wire terminal. Check resistance between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809 Red/Black wire terminal. If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If either resistance reading is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow/Black and/or Red/Black wire and retest system operation.
- Check Brown & Brown/Yellow Wire For Short To Voltage - Reconnect DDM 20-pin connector C523. Disconnect right rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C811. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C811 Brown wire terminal. Check voltage between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C811 Brown/Yellow wire terminal. If both voltage readings are 10 volts or less, go to next step. If either voltage reading is more than 10 volts, repair short to voltage in Brown and/or Brown/Yellow wire and retest system operation.
- Check Brown & Brown/Yellow Wire For Short To Ground - Disconnect right rear window motor connector C810. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C811 Brown wire terminal. Check resistance between ground and right rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C811 Brown/Yellow wire terminal. If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace right rear window motor and retest system operation. If either resistance reading is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Brown and/or Brown/Yellow wire and retest system operation.
TEST H: LEFT FRONT & LEFT REAR WINDOWS ARE INOPERATIVE
- Check Switch Input - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, select and monitor DDM PIDs D_PW_SW and LRPW_SW. Press and release driver door window control switch left front and left rear window switch in the UP and DOWN position several times. If PID values agree with the switch position, go to next step. If PID values do not agree with the switch position, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
- Check Fuse - Ensure transmission is in Park. Turn ignition off. Remove and check condition of engine compartment power distribution box maxi-fuse No. 5 (40-amp). If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is open, replace fuse and retest system operation. If new fuse opens again, go to step 4).
- Check For Voltage To Fuse - Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and engine compartment power distribution box maxi-fuse No. 5 (40-amp) input cavity. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open in Yellow/Light Green wire and retest system operation. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace engine compartment power distribution box and retest system operation.
- Check Yellow/Light Green Wire For Short To Ground - Remove engine compartment power distribution box fuse No. 9 (40-amp). Remove instrument panel fuse block fuse No. 41 (20-amp). Disconnect left rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C709. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and engine compartment power distribution box maxi-fuse No. 5 (40-amp) output cavity. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow/Light Green wire and retest system operation.
- Check Left Rear Window Control Switch - Check left rear window control switch. See «SINGLE SWITCHES»(ref-29357-S28032541282001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTS. If left rear window control switch is okay, go to next step. If left rear window control switch is not okay, replace switch and retest system operation.
- Check Yellow/Light Blue & Gray/Orange Wire For Voltage - Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711 Yellow/Light Blue wire terminal. Check voltage between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711 Gray/Orange wire terminal. If either voltage reading is more than 10 volts, repair Yellow/Light Blue and/or Gray/Orange wire for short to voltage and retest system operation. If both voltage readings are 10 volts or less, go to next step.
- Check Yellow/Light Blue & Gray/Orange Wire For Short To Ground - Disconnect DDM 20-pin connector C523 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711 Yellow/Light Blue wire terminal. Check resistance between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711 Gray/Orange wire terminal. If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If either resistance reading is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow/Light Blue and/or Gray/Orange wire and retest system operation.
- Check Yellow/Black & Yellow/Light Blue Wire For Voltage - Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C709 Yellow/Black wire terminal. Check voltage between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C709 Yellow/Light Blue wire terminal. If both voltage readings are more than 10 volts, go to next step. If either voltage reading is 10 volts or less, go to step 10).
- Check Yellow/Black & Yellow/Light Blue Wire For Short To Voltage - Disconnect left rear window motor connector C710. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C709 Yellow/Black wire terminal. If voltage reading is more than 10 volts, repair short to voltage in Yellow/Black wire and retest system operation. If voltage reading is 10 volts or less, repair short to voltage in Yellow/Light Blue wire and retest system operation.
- Check Yellow/Black & Yellow/Light Blue Wire For Short To Ground - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C709 Yellow/Black wire terminal. Check resistance between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C709 Yellow/Light Blue wire terminal. If both resistance readings are 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, go to step 12).
- Check Yellow/Black & Yellow/Light Blue Wire For Short To Ground - Disconnect left rear window motor connector C710. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C709 Yellow/Black wire terminal. Check resistance between ground and left rear window control switch 4-pin square connector C709 Yellow/Light Blue wire terminal. If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace left rear window motor and retest system operation. If either resistance reading is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow/Black and/or Yellow/Light Blue wire and retest system operation.
- Check Pink/Yellow & Red/Yellow Wire For Short To Voltage - Disconnect DDM 4-pin connector C522 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and DDM 4-pin connector C522 terminal No. 1 (Pink/Yellow wire). Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and DDM 4-pin connector C522 terminal No. 2 (Red/Yellow wire). If either voltage reading is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If either reading is 10 volts or less, go to step 14).
- Check Pink/Yellow Wire For Short To Voltage - Disconnect left front window motor connector C514. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and DDM 4-pin connector C522 terminal No. 1 (Pink/Yellow wire). If voltage reading is more than 10 volts, repair Pink/Yellow wire for short to voltage and retest system operation. If voltage reading is 10 volts or less, repair Red/Yellow wire and retest system operation.
- Check Pink/Yellow & Red/Yellow Wire For Short To Ground - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and DDM 4-pin connector C522 terminal No. 1 (Pink/Yellow wire). Check resistance between ground and DDM 4-pin connector C522 terminal No. 2 (Red/Yellow wire). If either resistance reading is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
- Check Left Front Window Motor For Short To Ground - Disconnect left front window motor connector C514. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and DDM 4-pin connector C522 terminal No. 1 (Pink/Yellow wire). Check resistance between ground and DDM 4-pin connector C522 terminal No. 2 (Red/Yellow wire). If both resistance readings are more than 10 k/ohms, replace left front window motor and retest system operation. If either resistance reading is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Pink/Yellow and/or Red/Yellow wire and retest system operation.
TEST J: RIGHT FRONT, RIGHT REAR & LEFT REAR WINDOWS ARE
INOPERATIVE
- Check Driver Door Window Control Switch - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Activate all windows from driver door window control switch. If all windows operate properly from driver door control switch, go to next step. If all windows do not operate properly from driver door control switch, go to step 3).
- Check Red/Light Blue Wire For Open - Disconnect DDM 20-pin connector C523 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Connect a jumper wire from battery voltage to DDM 20-pin connector C523 terminal No. 10 (Red/Light Blue wire). (Scheme 6) Activate each passenger door window switch. If all passenger windows operate, replace driver door module and retest system operation. If each passenger window does not operate, repair open in Red/Light Blue wire and retest system operation.
- Check Red/Light Blue Wire For Short To Ground - Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and DDM 20-pin connector C523 terminal No. 10 (Red/Light Blue wire). If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
- Check Left Rear Window Switch - Disconnect left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and DDM 20-pin connector C523 terminal No. 10 (Red/Light Blue wire). (Scheme 6) If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace left rear window control switch and retest system operation.
- Check Right Front Window Switch - Disconnect right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and DDM 20-pin connector C523 terminal No. 10 (Red/Light Blue wire). If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace right front window control switch and retest system operation.
- Check Right Rear Window Switch - Disconnect right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and DDM 20-pin connector C523 terminal No. 10 (Red/Light Blue wire). (Scheme 6) If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Red/Light Blue wire and retest system operation. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace right rear window control switch and retest system operation.
TEST K: WINDOW LOCK-OUT FEATURE DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY
- Check Window Lock-Out Feature - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Ensure window lock-out switch is not engaged (switch is up). Activate each passenger door window switch. Engage window lock-out switch (switch is down). Activate each passenger door window switch. If window lock-out feature does not operate properly, go to next step. If window lock-out feature operates properly, system is operating properly at this time. Retest system operation.
- Check Red/Light Blue Wire For Open - Disconnect DDM 20-pin connector C523 (located in lower front corner of driver door). Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and DDM 20-pin connector C523 terminal No. 10 (Red/Light Blue wire). (Scheme 6) If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Red/Light Blue wire and retest system operation.
- Check Left Rear Window Switch For Short To Voltage - Disconnect left rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C711. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and DDM 20-pin connector C523 terminal No. 10 (Red/Light Blue wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace left rear window control switch and retest system operation.
- Check Right Rear Window Switch For Short To Voltage - Disconnect right rear window control switch 4-pin flat connector C809. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and DDM 20-pin connector C523 terminal No. 10 (Red/Light Blue wire). (Scheme 6) If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace right rear window control switch and retest system operation.
- Check Right Front Window Switch For Short To Voltage - Disconnect right front window control switch 4-pin flat connector C600. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and DDM 20-pin connector C523 terminal No. 10 (Red/Light Blue wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace driver door module and retest system operation. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace right front window control switch and retest system operation.
TEST L: ONE-TOUCH DOWN FEATURE DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY
- Check One-Touch Down Feature - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Lightly press driver door control switch driver door window switch down. If driver door window does not go all the way down, go to next step. If driver door window goes all the way down, go to step 3).
- Ensure One-Touch Down Feature Is Turned On - Press message center MENU switch until message center reads EXPRESS WINDOW. If one-touch down feature is ON, go to next step. If one-touch down feature is not ON, press SELECT switch to turn one-touch down feature on and retest system operation.
- Check Window Operation - Operate driver door window several times while observing window operation. If window operates smoothly without any sticking or binding, go to next step. If window does not operate smoothly without any sticking or binding, repair window mechanism as necessary and retest system operation.
- Check Cancel Operation With UP Switch - Operate driver door window to full UP position. Press driver door window control DOWN switch. While window is in motion, press driver door window control UP switch. If driver door window stops, system is operating properly at this time. If driver door window does not stop, replace driver door module and retest system operation.
