- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
| CAUTION | Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seatback spring, seat adjuster and seat cushion spring may injure your hands. |
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
- REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY Using a screwdriver, pry out the 4 seat track bracket covers. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. Remove the 4 bolts. Disconnect the connectors under the seat. Then remove the seat. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

- REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH Raise the reclining adjuster release handle to reveal the claw. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the release handle. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. (Scheme 27): Detaching Claw And Removing Release Handle
- REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB Using a screwdriver, pry out the 2 switch knobs. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH Remove the screw. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the cushion shield. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. (Scheme 28): Identifying Cushion Shield Claws With Screw
- REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER COVER LH Remove the 4 screws. Disconnect the lumbar front power seat switch connector. Then remove the adjuster cover. (Scheme 29): Identifying Reclining Adjuster Cover Screws LH
- REMOVE LUMBAR FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH Remove the 2 screws and switch.
- REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH (See «REMOVAL»(ref-283188-S37274349722008041900000) ) (Scheme 30): Identifying Lumbar Front Power Seat Switch Screws
- REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH Remove the 3 screws. Using a screwdriver, detach the 5 claws and remove the cushion shield. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. (Scheme 31): Identifying Cushion Shield Claws With Screws
- REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER BEZEL LH Using a screwdriver, detach the claws and remove the reclining remote control lever knob. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. Using a screwdriver, detach the 5 claws and remove the lever bezel. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. (Scheme 32): Identifying Lever Bezel Claws
- REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Remove the 2 screws. Pull the seatback board downward to detach the 2 hooks. Then, remove the seatback board.
- REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY Disconnect the connector and detach the clamp. Remove the 4 bolts and seat cushion. (Scheme 33): Pulling Seatback Board Downward To Detaching Hooks
- REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY Remove the hog rings. Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps. Disconnect the reclining remote control lever cable from the seat adjuster. Remove the 4 bolts and seatback. (Scheme 34): Removing Hog Rings

- REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT Detach the claws and remove the 2 headrest supports.
- REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD Remove the 4 bolts and seatback board.
- REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER Remove the hog rings and seatback cover (together with the pad) from the seatback spring. Remove the hog rings and seatback cover from the seatback pad. (Scheme 35): Identifying Seatback Board With Bolts
- REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Remove the 2 bolts and control lever.
- REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY Disconnect the connector. Remove the 2 bolts, spacer and adjuster.
- REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH Disconnect the connector. Remove the 3 screws and power seat switch.
- REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH Remove the 2 screws and inside cover.
- REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH Remove the 2 screws and inside cover.
- REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER Remove the hog rings and cushion cover (together with the pad) from the seat cushion spring. Remove the hog rings and cushion cover from the seat cushion pad.
- REMOVE POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSEMBLY Disconnect the connectors. Remove the 8 screws and 4 power seat motors.
- REMOVE OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR (for Front Passenger Side) Remove the 2 clips and sensor. (Scheme 36): Identifying Occupant Detection Sensor With Clips
- REMOVE OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU (for Front Passenger Side) Remove the 2 bolts and ECU. (Scheme 37): Locating Occupant Detection ECU Bolts
INSTALLATION
- INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY Place the seat in the cabin. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body. Connect the connector under the seat. Install the seat with the 4 bolts. Torque: 37 N*m (377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) Install the 4 seat track covers.
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION Perform initialization (see «INITIALIZATION»(ref-283168-S15934672912008041900000) ). NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT Check the SRS warning light (see «DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM»(ref-283183-S20035306762008041900000) ).

- REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY Detach the seat cushion's 2 front hooks from the vehicle body. NOTE: Follow the instructions below carefully as the cushion frame deforms easily. Choose a hook to detach first. Place your hands near the hook as shown in the illustration. Then lift the seat cushion to detach the hook. Repeat for the other hook. Detach the seat cushion's 2 rear hooks from the seatback. Remove the seat cushion. (Scheme 38): Detaching Seat Cushion Rear Hooks From Seatback
- REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE COVER Using a screwdriver, detach the 8 claws and remove the 2 plate covers. (Scheme 39): Identifying Plate Covers With Claws HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSEMBLY Remove the 4 bolts and deflector board.
- REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips and 8 claws. Then remove the 2 headrest plates. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. (Scheme 40): Identifying Headrest Plates With Clips And Claws
- REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY Remove the 4 nuts and 2 headrests. (Scheme 41): Identifying Rear Seat Headrest Assembly With Nuts
