SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. POWER MIRROR CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION This system has the following functions: automatic glare-resistant electrochromatic (EC) mirror, reverse shift-linked mirror, electrical remote control type mirror, memory function, rear window defogger-linked mirror defogger and wiper-linked mirror defogger.
  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT MAIN COMPONENT FUNCTION Components Function Vertical mirror motor Receives signal from door ECU and adjusts remote control mirror vertically. Horizontal mirror motor Receives signal from door ECU and adjusts remote control mirror horizontally. Mirror retract motor* Receives signal from door ECU, and retracts and returns remote control mirror. Mirror defogger Receives signal from door ECU and starts mirror defogger. EC mirror cell Varies reflection rate of mirror through function of EC elements. Mirror retract switch* Retracts and returns remote control mirror. Mirror retract and return signals are sent to door ECU through driver side junction block ECU. Mirror master switch Consists of R and L switches. One must be chosen before mirror control switches can be operated. Mirror control switch After selecting R or L switch, RIGHT, LEFT, UP and DOWN control switches change angle of mirror. Mirror signals are sent to door ECU through driver side junction block ECU. Mirror position sensor Detects remote control mirror position. This data is detected by door ECU. Set switch Memory switch When set switch and memory switch are pressed simultaneously, SET, 1 or 2 switch is input to driver door ECU and remote control mirror position is recorded. Then, when memory switch is pressed, 1 or 2 switch is input to driver door ECU and remote control mirror position changes according to memory. HINT: *: w/ Retractable Mirror
  3. SYSTEM OPERATION The remote control mirror has the following features: SYSTEM OPERATION REFERENCE Function Outline Manual electrical retractable mirror* Retracts remote control mirrors when mirror retract switch is pressed. Reverse shift-linked mirror Directs mirror surface downward to improve visibility when driving in reverse and all conditions below are met. Ignition switch is ON. Shift lever is moved from position other than R to R. Mirror master switch is on R or L position. Electrical remote control type mirror When mirror control switch is operated, this function moves mirror surface vertically or laterally to enable driver to attain optimal mirror angle. Setting mirror master switch to R position operates right mirror, and to L position operates left mirror. Rear window defogger-linked mirror defogger Automatically turns on mirror defogger when rear window defogger switch is turned on. Rear window defogger and mirror defogger automatically turn off after 15 min. Wiper-linked mirror defogger Improves rear visibility in rain by automatically turning on mirror defogger when wiper switch is turned on. Automatic glare-resistant EC mirror Reduces glare / reflection in inner mirror during nighttime driving for safe driving conditions. Glare / reflection from vehicle headlights behind could blind driver and cause dangerous driving conditions. Memory function Stores adjusted mirror position in multiplex network door ECU front LH and RH. Mirrors automatically return to original positions after "reverse shift-linked mirror" function has been completed. HINT: *: w/ Retractable Mirror

DESCRIPTION

This circuit detects the conditions of the mirror retract switch.

The operating condition of the mirror retract switch is input by the driver side junction block ECU and the input signals are sent to the multiplex network door ECU front LH or RH (driver or passenger door ECU).

When the seat memory M1 or M2 switch is pressed, the multiplex network door ECU front LH (driver door ECU) sends a memory switch status signal to the position control ECU (for driver side). Then the position control ECU sends the following to the door ECU front LH and RH: 1) a memory M1 or M2 memory recall signal, and 2) a driver and front passenger seat mirror position memory recall signal recorded in memory. When the door ECU front LH and RH receive the memory M1 or M2 memory recall signal, and then receive the driver and front passenger seat mirror position memory recall signal within 1.2 seconds, the door ECU front LH and RH activate the mirror control motors to move the mirrors to the previously recorded positions.
