SYSTEM NAME CHART
| CAUTION | When there are problems with contact points of terminals and improper part installation, the installation / removal of the suspected part may return the system to normal or may only temporarily return the system to normal. To determine the malfunctioning area, use DTCs, freeze frame data and other data to help determine conditions at the time of the malfunction. Write down the data before disconnecting connectors or installing / removing parts. The vehicle stability control system may be affected by malfunctions in other systems. Check for DTCs in other systems and, if present, troubleshoot those DTCs first. Unless specified, the ignition switch must be OFF when installing / removing the brake actuator and the vehicle stability control system's connectors. After the brake actuator or a vehicle stability control system connector has been removed and reinstalled, be sure to check for DTCs. Also, perform the test mode inspection to make sure the part is functioning normally. After replacing the yaw rate sensor and / or the skid control ECU, make sure to perform the yaw rate sensor and deceleration sensor zero point calibration. Since the CAN communication line has its own length and route, it cannot be repaired temporarily with a bypass wire, etc. |

FREEZE FRAME DATA
- FREEZE FRAME DATA HINT: When a DTC is detected or the ABS operates, the skid control ECU stores the current vehicle (sensor) state as freeze frame data. The skid control ECU stores the number of times (maximum: 31) the ignition switch has been turned from OFF to ON since the last time the ABS was activated. However, if the vehicle is stopped, the vehicle is driven at 7 km/h (4.3 mph) or less, or a DTC is detected, the ECU will not count the next time the ignition switch is turned from OFF to ON. Freeze frame data at the time the ABS operates: The skid control ECU stores data or updates stored data when the ABS operates. This data is erased when the ECU stores data at the time a DTC is detected. Freeze frame data at the time a DTC is detected: When the ECU stores data at the time a DTC is detected, the data will not be updated until the data is cleared. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch ON. From the display on the tester, select Freeze Frame Data. If a control is prohibited due to a malfunction during its operation, the control will be cut off gradually so that vehicle stability will not change suddenly.
