TROUBLE SHOOTING
Ensure all component terminals and ground connections are clean and tight. Check possible faults in order listed. Repair or replace components and circuits as necessary.
THEFT DETERRENT ECU TEST
For testing procedures, see appropriate ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM article in this section.
DOOR OPEN DETECTION SWITCH TEST
For testing procedures, see appropriate ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM article in this section.
WINDOW MOTOR TEST
- Disconnect window motor connector. Apply battery voltage between motor connector terminals. Motor should operate. To reverse motor direction, reverse polarity of voltage to motor. Replace motor if it does not operate.
- If you continue to apply battery voltage to motor after window has stopped moving, a circuit breaker in motor should open in 4-40 seconds. After circuit breaker opens, reverse polarity of voltage to motor.
- No more than 60 seconds should pass before motor moves in opposite direction, indicating that the circuit breaker has closed. Replace motor as necessary.
POWER MAIN RELAY TEST
Remove relay. See ELECTRICAL COMPONENT LOCATIONS TABLE under DESCRIPTION & OPERATION. Replace relay if it does not operate as follows. (Scheme 1)
- No continuity should exist between terminals No. 3 and 5.
- Apply battery voltage between terminals No. 1 and 2. Continuity should exist between terminals No. 3 and 5.

MASTER SWITCH TEST
Remove master switch. Check for continuity between specified terminals of master switch. (Scheme 2) Refer to the appropriate MASTER SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST table. If continuity is not as specified, replace master switch.

PASSENGER'S SWITCH TEST
Remove passenger's switch. Check for continuity between specified terminals of passenger's switch. (Scheme 3) See the PASSENGER'S SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST table. If continuity is not as specified, replace passenger's switch.

PASSENGER'S SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST

SWITCH INDICATOR LIGHT TEST
- Remove master switch. Apply battery voltage across the following terminals of master switch (connect positive lead to first terminal listed). (Scheme 2) Terminals No. 4 and 8.
- With window lock switch in unlock position, indicator lights on all switches should come on. With window lock switch in lock position, indicator lights on master passenger's switches should go out. If indicator lights do not operate as specified, replace master switch.
