1. REMOVE STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Secure the steering column assembly in a vise. Using a center punch, mark the center of the 2 tapered-head bolts. Using a 3 to 4 mm (0.118 to 0.157 in.) diameter drill bit, drill a hole in each tapered-head bolt. Using a screw extractor, remove each tapered-head bolt and steering lock actuator assembly from the steering column assembly. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Screw Extractor
2. REMOVE MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU Disconnect the connector from the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU. Remove the bolt and the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU.

1. INSTALL MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU Install the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU with the bolt. Torque: 2.8 N*m (29 kgf*cm, 25 in.*lbf) Connect the connector to the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU.
2. INSTALL STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY HINT: When replacing the steering lock actuator assembly, perform key registration. Refer to «REGISTRATION [03/2012 - ]»(ref-602561-S11508190522014030500000) . Temporarily install the steering lock actuator assembly with 2 new tapered-head bolts. Tighten the 2 tapered-head bolts until the bolt heads break off.
