PRECAUTION

Note. When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following systems after the cable is reconnected.   1. PRECAUTION WHEN USING TECHSTREAM When using the Techstream to troubleshoot the power door lock control system: Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 while the engine switch is off, and turn a door courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5-second intervals until communication between the Techstream and vehicle begins.

CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS

  1. CUSTOMIZE FUNCTION WITH TECHSTREAM NOTE: Be sure to record the current settings before customizing. These buzzers should be ON for safe driving. Perform this procedure only if it is necessary to set the buzzer OFF (disabled). HINT: The following items can be customized using the Techstream. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Utility / Customize Setting. Select the setting by referring to the table below. COMBINATION METER Tester Display Default Content Setting Driver Side Seatbelt Warning Buzzer ON Function to sound the seat belt warning buzzer ON/OFF Front Passenger Side Seatbelt Warning Buzzer ON Function to sound the seat belt warning buzzer ON/OFF HINT: This setting is only valid when the vehicle is driven at 20 km/h (12 mph) or more.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM) Clear the DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-400811-S35984818542011051800000) . Recheck for DTCs. Result Result Proceed to DTC is not output A DTC is output B B --> See step 3 A: Go to next step
  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream. COMBINATION METER (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Driver Side Seat Belt Driver side seat belt warning light OFF or ON Confirm that the vehicle stopped with the engine idling OK The driver side seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly operates normally. NG --> See step 4 OK --> See step 5
  3. GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM. Refer to «DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART»(ref-400811-S03730430612011051800000)
  4. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-400807-S03467652992011051800000)
  5. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-400649-S11887826212011051800000)

  5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream. COMBINATION METER (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note P-Seatbelt Buckle SW Front passenger side seat belt buckle switch signal/ON or OFF ON: Front passenger side seat belt fastened OFF: Front passenger side seat belt not fastened - OK ON of OFF appears on the Techstream screen according to the front passenger side seat belt condition.   7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT INNER BELT - COMBINATION METER) Disconnect the F15 meter connector. Disconnect the Z7 belt connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.   8. INSPECT OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR (SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD) Remove the occupant detection sensor (separate type front seat cushion pad). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-400652-S30025787892011051800000) . Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.   9. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH Remove the front seat inner belt assembly RH. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-400652-S31627949502011051800000) . Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
