  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) Disconnect the connector from the engine room J/B (power distributor). Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below. Voltage TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART Tester connection Condition Specified condition 2B-9 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (Scheme 1): Identifying Engine Room J/B OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK MODE MONITOR TERMINAL (HORN RELAY) Preparation Connect the connector. Remove the cover of the fusible link block assembly. Set the vehicle to the following conditions: Combination switch on Check voltage Measure the voltage between the Mode Monitor Terminal and body ground. Standard voltage TERMINALS VOLTAGE CHART Result Proceed to 0 V or Approx. 12 V A Approx. 6.2 V B Approx. 2.0 V C B: GO TO step 4 C: GO TO step 11 (Scheme 2): Identifying Mode Monitor Terminal A: Go to next step
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE ROOM J/B - MODE MONITOR TERMINAL) Disconnect the connector from the engine room J/B. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard resistance TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART Tester connection Condition Specified value 26-5 (MM) - Mode monitor terminal Always Below 1 ohms 2G-5 (MM) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (Scheme 3): Identifying Engine Room J/B And Mode Monitor Terminal OK: Go to next step
  4. INSPECT ENGINE ROOM J/B (HORN RELAY) Disconnect the battery negative terminal. Remove the engine room J/B. Inspect the HORN relay. (Scheme 4): Identifying Engine Room J/B (Horn Relay) Connect the positive battery lead to terminal 21-1 and 2B-9 of the engine room J/B and the negative lead to terminal 2H-13, 2F-1. SYMBOLS CONNECTION CHART Symbols (terminals No.) Connection 21-1, 2B-9-2H-13, 2F-1 Positive - Negative Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.   7. INSPECT HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY Remove high pitched horn (See «HIGH PITCHED HORN»(ref-283017-S36966126122008041400000) ). Inspect high pitched horn (See «HIGH PITCHED HORN»(ref-283017-S36966126122008041400000) ). OK: High pitched horn sounds. NG: REPLACE HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY OK: Go to next step
  8. INSPECT LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY Remove low pitched horn (See «LOW PITCHED HORN»(ref-283017-S04125513342008041400000) ). Inspect low pitched horn (See «LOW PITCHED HORN»(ref-283017-S04125513342008041400000) ). OK: Low pitched horn sounds. NG: REPLACE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY OK: Go to next step
  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR Disconnect the 2H J/B No. 2 connector and 1D instrument panel J/B connector. (Scheme 5): Identifying 2H J/B No. 2 Connector And 1D Instrument Panel J/B Connector Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Disconnect only the connector "2B". Check voltage Measure the voltage between the Mode Monitor Terminal and body ground.   1. INSPECT LOW PITCHED HORN Apply battery voltage and check operation of the horn, as shown in the table.
