  1. INSTALL BATTERY SMART UNIT NOTE: Wear insulating gloves and protective glasses. Install the battery smart unit with the 4 bolts. Torque: 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf) Connect the 5 connectors and 2 clamps.

  17. REMOVE HYBRID VEHICLE RELAY ASSEMBLY NOTE: Wear insulating gloves and protective glasses. Insulate the removed terminals with insulating tape. Disconnect the No.3 wire frame connector from the HV relay assembly. Remove the 2 nuts, then disconnect the No.3 wire frame from the HV relay assembly. Disconnect the 2 main battery cable connectors from the HV relay assembly. Disconnect the 2 connectors from the HV relay assembly. Remove the 3 nuts and HV relay assembly.

  1. SMR1 AND SYSTEM MAIN RESISTOR Measure the resistance between the 3 (CON1) and 4 (GND) terminals of the connector for the relay drive of the HV relay assembly. Standard resistance: 70 to 165 ohms (at -30°C (-22°F) to 80°C (176°F)) Increase battery voltage between the 3 (CON1) and 4 (GND) terminals of the connector for the relay drive of the HV relay assembly, and measure the resistance between the terminal of the HV battery side positive connector and the w/ convertor inverter assembly side positive terminal of the HV relay assembly. HINT: The standard resistance indicates the resistance of the system main resistor. Standard resistance: 28.5 to 31.5 ohms
  2. SMR2 Measure the resistance between the 1 (CON2) and 4 (GND) terminals of the connector for the relay drive of the HV relay assembly. Standard resistance: 20 to 60 ohms (at -35°C (-31°F) to 80°C (176°F)) Increase battery voltage between the 1 (CON2) and 4 (GND) terminals of the connector for the relay drive of the HV relay assembly, and measure the resistance between the terminal of the HV battery side positive connector and the w/ converter inverter assembly side positive terminal of the HV relay assembly. Standard resistance: Below 1 ohms
  3. SMR3 Measure the resistance between the 2 (CON3) and 4 (GND) terminals of the connector for the relay drive of the HV relay assembly. Standard resistance: 20 to 60 ohms (at -35°C (-31°F) to 80°C (176°F)) Increase battery voltage between the 2 (CON3) and 4 (GND) terminals of the connector for the relay drive of the HV relay assembly, and measure the resistance between the terminal of the HV battery side negative connector and the w/ converter inverter assembly side negative terminal of the HV relay assembly. Standard resistance: Below 1 ohms

  1. INSTALL HYBRID VEHICLE RELAY ASSEMBLY NOTE: Wear insulating gloves and protective glasses. Install the HV relay assembly with the 3 nuts. Torque: 4.5 N*m (46 kgf*cm, 40 in.*lbf) Connect the 2 connectors on the HV relay assembly. Connect the 2 main battery cable connectors on the HV relay assembly. Install the No.3 wire frame on the HV relay with the 2 nuts. NOTE: Make sure that the No. 3 wire frame do not cross each other. Be sure to connect the No. 3 wire frame to each correct terminal as shown in the illustration. Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf) Install the No.3 wire frame connector on the HV relay assembly.

  18. REMOVE HV BATTERY NOTE: Wear insulating gloves and protective glasses. Insulate the removed terminals with insulating tape. Remove the HV battery LH. Remove the battery room ventilation hose between the HV batteries LH and CTR. Disconnect the wire harness clamp of the battery thermo sensor. Remove the nut and main battery cable from the HV battery. NOTE: Insulate the tool with insulating tape. Do not use the universal joint. Remove the nut, then disconnect the EV battery plug from the HV battery. NOTE: Insulate the tool with insulating tape. Do not use the universal joint. Remove the HV battery LH.
  19. REMOVE ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERY PLUG ASSEMBLY NOTE: Wear insulating gloves and protective glasses. Insulate the removed terminals with insulating tape. Disconnect the 2 connectors and clamps. Remove the 2 bolts, nut, and EV battery plug.

  1. INSTALL ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERY PLUG ASSEMBLY NOTE: Wear insulating gloves and protective glasses. Install the EV battery plug with the 2 bolts and nut. Torque: Bolt 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) Nut 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf) Connect the 2 connectors and clamps.
  2. INSTALL HV BATTERY NOTE: Wear insulating gloves and protective glasses. Install the HV battery LH. Install the HV battery LH. NOTE: After installing the HV battery LH, pull the ropes for hanging toward the front of the vehicle to eliminate the slacks. Connect the EV battery plug on the HV battery with a new nut. Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) NOTE: Be sure to engage the plastic cover securely. Insulate the tool with insulating tape. Do not use the universal joint. Connect the main battery cable on the HV battery with a new nut. Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) NOTE: Be sure to engage the plastic cover securely. Insulate the tool with insulating tape. Do not use the universal joint. Connect the wire harness clamp of the battery thermo sensor. Connect the battery room ventilation hose between the HV batteries LH and CTR. NOTE: Align the projections of the battery room ventilation hose and the rubber tube, and install the hose.

  17. REMOVE BATTERY COOLING BLOWER ASSEMBLY NOTE: Wear insulating gloves and protective glasses. Disconnect each battery cooling blower assembly connector and clamp. Remove the 9 nuts and 3 battery cooling blower assemblies.
  1. INSTALL BATTERY COOLING BLOWER ASSEMBLY NOTE: Wear insulating gloves and protective glasses. Install the 3 battery cooling blower assemblies with the 9 nuts. Torque: 4.5 N*m (46 kgf*cm, 40 in.*lbf) Connect each battery cooling blower assembly connector and clamp.
