Transfer (Service Information): Removal & Installation Lexus LX J200

INSTALLATION

  1. INSTALL TRANSFER ASSEMBLY Install the transfer with the 8 bolts. Torque: 40 N*m ( 408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) NOTE: Take care not to damage the adaptor oil seal with the transfer input shaft spline.
  2. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WITH TRANSFER ASSEMBLY Install the automatic transmission with transfer assembly. Refer to «INSTALLATION»(ref-385187-S08744567712011021400000) .
  3. ADD TRANSFER OIL See step 2
  4. CHECK FOR TRANSFER OIL LEAK

  1. INSPECT CENTER DIFFERENTIAL LOCK SWITCH Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 6 (L) - 9 (CPU) Switch pressed and held Below 1 ohms Switch not pressed 100 kohms or higher If the result is not as specified, replace the center differential lock switch.
  1. INSTALL CENTER DIFFERENTIAL LOCK SWITCH Attach the 2 claws to install the switch.

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE: w/ Navigation System: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-385196-S36681500272011021400000) .

  12. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY (4WD CONTROL SWITCH) Disconnect the connector. Remove the 5 screws and integration control and panel from the position indicator housing.

  1. INSPECT INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY (4WD CONTROL SWITCH) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 9 (2WD) - 6 (E) H4 position 100 kohms or higher L4 position Below 1 ohms If the result is not as specified, replace the integration control and panel assembly.
  1. INSTALL INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY (4WD CONTROL SWITCH) Install the integration control and panel with the 5 screws. Connect the connector.
  2. INSTALL LOWER POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING . Refer to «REASSEMBLY - Step 8»(ref-385187-S21751536702011021400000)
  3. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to «INSTALLATION - Step 43»(ref-385215-S42454521362011021400000)

  10. REMOVE 4WD CONTROL ECU Disconnect the 2 ECU connectors. Remove the bolt and ECU.
  1. INSTALL 4WD CONTROL ECU Install the ECU with the bolt. Torque: 13 N*m ( 127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) Connect the 2 ECU connectors.
