INSPECTION

WARNINGThe vehicle is equipped with an SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) which includes components such as airbags. Before servicing (including removal or installation of parts), be sure to read the PRECAUTION in the SRS. Refer to PRECAUTION .

  1. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System) Disconnect the z35 switch connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 6 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) No switch is pushed 100 kohms 6 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Seek+ switch pushed Below 2.5 ohms 6 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Seek- switch pushed 329 ohms 6 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Volume+ switch pushed 1000 ohms 6 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Volume- switch pushed 3110 ohms 7 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) No switch is pushed 100 kohms 7 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) MODE switch pushed Below 2.5 ohms 7 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) ON Hook switch pushed 329 ohms 7 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) OFF Hook switch pushed 1000 ohms 7 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) Voice switch pushed 3110 ohms 7 (+DP) - 8 (EAU) DISP switch pushed Below 2.5 ohms 10 (ECC) - 2 (DIST) ACC switch pushed Below 2.5 ohms If the result is not as specified, replace the steering switch assembly.
  2. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System) Disconnect the z35 switch connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 6 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) No switch is pushed 100 kohms 6 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Seek+ switch pushed Below 2.5 ohms 6 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Seek- switch pushed 329 ohms 6 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Volume+ switch pushed 1000 ohms 6 (AU1) - 8 (EAU) Volume- switch pushed 3110 ohms 7 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) No switch is pushed 100 kohms 7 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) MODE switch pushed Below 2.5 ohms 7 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) On hook switch pushed 329 ohms 7 (AU2) - 8 (EAU) Off hook switch pushed 1000 ohms 9 (+DP) - 8 (EAU) DISP switch pushed Below 2.5 ohms If the result is not as specified, replace the steering pad switch assembly.

Scheme 20: INSTALLATION
  1. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft assembly. Install the steering wheel assembly set nut. Torque: 50 N*m ( 510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf)
  2. INSTALL STEERING SHAKE DAMPER Install the steering shake damper with 2 screws. Torque: 2.4 N*m ( 25 kgf*cm, 21 in.*lbf)
  3. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH Install the cruise control main switch with the 2 screws. Connect the connector.
  4. INSTALL STEERING PAD . Refer to «INSTALLATION - Step 1»(ref-385228-S05100032022011021400000)
  5. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER . Refer to «INSTALLATION - Step 3»(ref-385228-S05100032022011021400000)
  6. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER . Refer to «INSTALLATION - Step 2»(ref-385228-S05100032022011021400000)
  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE: Reset the Autoaway/Return function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter. Refer to «CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS»(ref-385196-S01792569272011021400000) .
  8. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT Inspect the SRS warning light. Refer to «DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM»(ref-385233-S20470381672011021400000) .
